Duties and Responsibilities: The Learning Support Assistant will: •Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils •Provide in class support for named pupil(s) with specific special educational needs •Produce resources for supported pupils, as necessary, to meet their needs •Prepare and provide small group or individual sessions for pupils as required •Support the learning of individual pupils and develop their knowledge and confidence •Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs •Offer observations to teachers on individual pupils’ learning to enable them to plan and differentiate lessons relevant to their learning needs •Attend to pupils’ personal/medical needs in relation to disability where appropriate
