Brook Street (UK) Ltd are recruiting a Helpdesk Operator for our leading Public Sector client Education Authority Northern Ireland, Belfast.

As a temporary-full time Helpdesk Operator you will provide administrative and secretarial support within the Maintenance department and carry out the functions of the Maintenance Help Desk.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• You will act as initial contact between the Maintenance Manager/Senior Maintenance Officer and the clients of the Education Authority, including principals, Education Authority members, and officers from other Education Authority's, the Department of Education and other educational agencies and the general public.
• You will deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence of a general nature, including drafting responses and/or forwarding to the appropriate officer
• You will prepare and collate all relevant material for the maintenance department.
• You will word process letters, memos, reports and other documents, including those of a confidential nature.
• You will maintain databases, spreadsheets and other documents.
• You will prepare materials for the maintenance manager using appropriate software packages.
• You will respond to all Helpdesk calls / emails / faxes received, ensuring that all communications are logged and actioned appropriately.
• You will operate Helpdesk software, monitoring customer use and software performance and informing Maintenance of actions required.
• You will maintain a professional Helpdesk service at all times, keeping customers informed of the progress of issues logged on the Helpdesk.
• To complete the daily printing of all works orders.

The rate of pay is £12.52 per hour, the hours of work are 0900-1700 Monday to Friday.

Assisting residents with all aspects of personal care, i.e. bathing, grooming, dental hygiene, getting dressed, etc.
Handling household tasks and supporting with activities of daily living (e.g., grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning).
Preparing and serving meals at the appropriate time.
Administering oral and topical medication under the supervision of medical personnel where required.
Providing mental and emotional support. -Making recommendations to family
members and healthcare personnel on the plan of care.
Organising suitable recreational activities for the patient.
Collaborating with other health care and social care professionals to provide the best possible person-centered care.

Your Support Worker role would include:

Supporting service users inside their home and in the Hartlepool community
Supporting service users to retain their independence
Engaging in activities with the tenants using both verbal and non-verbal communication
Collaborating with service users, family members and other involved professionals to provide excellent person-centred care for service users
Working as part of a team and independently across our supported living services
Administering medication, providing respectful personal care and helping service users retain their dignity at all times
Some service administration tasks which will require basic computer knowledge

Experience of working with people who have learning disabilities and/or autism is beneficial but not essential for this Support Worker role as you will be provided with full training for the role, with excellent staff teams that support each other across the Hartlepool services. A car driver is preferred for this role but not essential as the services are located within walking distance of each other and are on a good bus route. The shift patterns will be a mix of early and late shifts between the hours of 7am and 10pm depending on the service.

You will be supporting three service users in their own homes. Our service users enjoy a variety of activities, such as going for drives, movie nights and going to the pub! You will support our service users to access the community, maintain housework and live an enjoyable and independent life.
