• Provides specialized nursing care to patients in a ward of a hospital with injuries, illnesses or attitudes that
  require adaptation of established nursing procedures.
• Sets up and operates specialized equipment, including but not limited to: cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, apnea monitors, non-invasive blood pressure machines, rapid intravenous infusion pumps, suction equipment, EKG machines, splinting and casting equipment, small volume nebulizers, feeding pumps, baby warmers, blanket warmers, and fetal monitors.
• Serves as the Supervisory Nurse with responsibilities of assuring House Manager functions are provided and for accomplishment of work planning, direction, human capital management and performance evaluation.
• Maintains unit specific records for assignments, work schedules, patient and staff census, patient transfers/admissions/discharges and unit checklists.

The Clinical Nurse Manager Educator Supervises the Nurse Educators, RQI and Simulation Coordinator, and others as assigned. Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising staff education. Delivers a fundamental understanding of adult learning principles and a lifelong learner that can practice with flexibility to adapt or change learning strategies based on the assessment of learning needs within the healthcare organization. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates educational needs to facilitate learner development and skill training of clinical staff. Utilizes innovative teaching strategies, assessment skills, and evaluation of outcomes. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of education focused on staff education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the healthcare continuum. Follows procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Systematically evaluates current practice, formulate outcomes for groups of patients and/or organizational processes within area of expertise. Collaborates with Clinical Nurse Educators and interprofessional healthcare teams in the ongoing clinical education activities including in-services, training, competency assessment, and evaluations of both current and new staff nursing skills. Oversees the Resuscitation Education Initiative (Redi) Program. Monitors and tracks BLS/Advanced Life Support (ALS) compliance within the organization. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to support and evaluate responses to emergency responses in the facility to include BLS and ALS. Organizes, participates, and evaluates mock codes. Oversees collaboration between other Clinical Nurse Educators and interprofessional healthcare teams in the ongoing clinical education activities including in-services, training, competency assessment, and evaluations of both current and new staff nursing skills. Reviews current nursing literature for new trends and changes based on evidence-based research with the ability to propose practice and documentation revisions based on evaluation of outcomes. Collaborates with leadership and unit managers to identify educational training needs for staff, while supporting activities that foster competence, critical thinking, and decision making. Provides consultation and collaboration through the participation within organizational committees. Ability to analyze, interpret, utilize, and evaluate data to develop programs, and determine outcomes and process improvements related to educational programs.

The Nurse III Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated units. They provide coverage for other ANMs as needed. The ANM has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. They function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. They influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides comprehensive care coordination for patients as assigned. The intensity of care coordination provided is situational and appropriate based on patient need and payer requirements. This position is accountable for the clinical quality of Care Coordination services delivered by both them and others and identifies/resolves barriers which may hinder effective patient care. The goal is to empower the patient and the family to participate to the fullest of their abilities in the discharge planning process. This position provides developmentally appropriate care for the population that it serves which includes planning for the safe discharge, continuity of care, the ability to recognize and plan for the unique needs of all ages as well as the physically disabled, mentally ill, chronically ill and terminally ill patient.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Manages individual patients across the health care continuum to achieve the optimal clinical care, financial, operational, and satisfaction outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess knowledge of case management or utilization review as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in case management or health care.

Requires current Registered Nurse (R.N.) license in state worked. For assignments in an acute care setting, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
 

Requires a proficiency level typically achieved with 2-3 years clinical experience. Must demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and time management skills. Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team format. May have to take rotating call based on the acute facility need. Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year Case Manager experience in an acute care hospital.

• Provide on-site formal service training and instruction on repair & maintenance of JerrDan products.

• Identify and resolve all problems relating to parts, service, and warranty including appropriate stocking levels of service parts.

• Responsible for collection and transmission of data relating to any specific service problems, design deficiencies, and general maintenance problems that may occur reported on the Service Request.

• Provide field technical service and advice to customer in compliance with predetermined sales obligations.
