• We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and caring person to work in our modern and well-equipped Rapid Diagnostic Department to work within an interdisciplinary team of nursing, medical, paramedical and clerical staff, under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide quality patient services and assistance to meet health care needs.
• The Outpatient Department consists of a variety of outpatient clinics providing diagnostic and therapeutic outpatient care to the local community. The nursing service provides support for over 70 visiting clinicians from St Georges Trust to provide the full range of surgical and medical clinics.
• The post holder will be expected to work in all specialities within the department based both at the Nelson Health Centre and St Johns Therapy Centre but is expected to be assigned to all sites within STG.
• Assistance and supporting registered nurses and clinicians in clinic, chaperoning, recording vital signs (Escalation of EWS scores to NIC), Height, weight, urinalysis, venepunture etc
• Participate with monthly audits.
• To perform patient observations e.g. temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration, urine testing, fluid balance charts, height & weight and to record these correctly in the patient’s records, reporting any abnormality or change in these to a qualified nurse.
• To demonstrate an awareness of the importance of patient confidentiality and ensure a safe and secure environment at all time.
• To assist the ward team to keep the ward/clinical area tidy, including storage cupboards, sluice, equipment, and treatment rooms.
