A client within the Public Sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for an Estates Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within the public sector within a commercial property environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to support the Council to deliver a case load of professional estate management work on the Councils corporate/commercial portfolio.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- negotiate rent reviews and calculations, negotiate lease and licence terms, manage lease assignments, licence for alternations, easements, wayleaves, and other general estate management contractual negotiations as directed through to completion.
- undertake site visits to inspect for compliance with lease terms, to liaise on boundary disputes, to check ownership and take measurements
- ensure business rate information remains current, ensuring wider team have utility data and energy data to undertake reviews of the estate, supporting with the review and projects.
- provide technical advice to the wider Council on landlord and tenant matters, to support the Manager with monitoring payments
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require to be educated to a degree level and be able to evident continuous professional development in property, surveying, or a similar discipline
It will be essential to have an extensive level of knowledge of the below:
- Property inspection including basic building pathology Landlord and Tenant experience including lease renewals, rent reviews.
- Knowledge and understanding of effective, efficient, and economic use of property and accommodation.
- Demonstrable ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports, letters, and emails appropriate to the audience.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £400 - £500 per day Umbrella Ltd.
