We are currently representing a medium sized Housebuilder who are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team based in the North West

About the role - Senior Quantity Surveyor

You will be reporting to the Commercial Director and will be a key member of the Commercial Team delivering profitability through contract procurement, cost planning and control and general commercial input through the private development process. You will manage and forecast build costs for allocated sites in the region. You role will also involve procuring all necessary subcontract trades whilst managing the payment process and subsequent contractual obligations.

Senior Quantity Surveyor duties include:

" Actively manage build and infrastructure costs, cash flows, cost movements and variations and budgeted financial information at site and plot level as per Group policies and processes.

" Ensure Group policies and processes are followed and reported fully on all development/build-related expenditure adding value to the wider business and delivering the commercial objectives

" Manage the working partnership with Housing Associations, third party providers and sub-contractors to ensure that all contractual terms are met and ensure that all orders are place, managed and settled as per Group policies and processes.

We're looking for estate planning solicitors to join our technical Estate Planning team within Co-op Legal Services.

In this role you'll manage estate planning cases end to end with a client-focussed approach to targets. You won't need to bring a following of clients with you as we will source new work for you. What you'll do

* own caseload of complex Estate Planning cases to include Wills, Trusts and LPAs
* use our case management system to make sure information is recorded accurately
* engage with clients mainly by telephone and email
* work collaboratively with expert support from the team to continually develop your legal skills, administrative support will also be provided at certain case levels
* use your legal knowledge to mentor more junior members of the team

This role would suit people who have

About the role

To provide a Quantity Surveying / Employer's Agent services across a range of projects delivered by Identity Consult and be responsible for all aspects of service delivery from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead Consultant under supervision of a Senior Consultant or above, in the delivery of projects both pre and post-contract across a number of sectors relevant to the individual;
• Comply with Identity Consult's internal quality assurance management procedures and governance;
• Undertake all aspects of financial management of projects;
• Preparation of appointments and contracts for commissions;
• Ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards;
• Preparation of interim valuations, contract instructions and final accounts;
• Contract and dispute advice;
• Employer's Agent / Contract Administrator services including issuing of appropriate project certification;
• Carry out the appointment and co-ordination of other consultants and contractors where required;
• Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions;
• Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse contractor tenders and make recommendations in relation to Contract Award;
• Undertake site visits including snagging, inspections, and handovers;
• Prepare agendas, meeting minutes and supporting documents for meetings as required;
• Arrange and where required chair the required meetings to ensure the successful delivery of Identity Consult commissions;
• Carry out Business Development and Marketing activities to support the company's growth (targets to be agreed as part of the appraisal process)..

Qualifications

• Degree in quantity surveying or HNC in Building Studies;
• Demonstration of significant commitment towards personal professional development;
• A candidate not possessing the qualifications listed above but with a substantial and clearly established track record of success in a relevant field may also be considered;
• Must have a driving licence and have access to own car.

Knowledge

• Minimum of 3 years for a construction related organisation;
• Experience of workload demand planning and developing resourcing strategies to deliver the work plan;
• Have good techniques and processes for tracking progress with tasks assigned to others and for dealing with delivery issues;
• Substantial experience of preparing, monitoring, and controlling budgets within a value for money framework;
• Considerable experience in business and financial planning management including negotiating appropriate financial solutions;
• Excellent knowledge of procurement routes and forms of building contract;
• Excellent knowledge of relevant system and estimating software;
• Confidence in the use of all Microsoft applications; word, excel, PowerPoint, and be able to prepare and analyse detailed reports, spreadsheets & presentations.
