Creative Computing Technician (L3) (1.0FTE)
Part of the University of Southampton, a founder member of the prestigious Russell Group of universities, Winchester School of Art is currently restructuring to quicken the pace of change. Part of this process is increasing our delivery of digitally oriented programmes, along with the development of an exciting new purpose-built facility for creative technologies. The role
This opportunity serves as a completely new role facilitating the recently launched Creative Computing programme, working with students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. This role will complement our existing Technical Services team. You will deliver technical guidance, both on campus and online in programming, Arduino, Raspberry Pi and electronics, audiovisual production and installation, 3D modelling, scanning, fabrication and more. You will have experience using creative coding platforms such as Processing, Open Frameworks, Visual Studio Code and Git, along with programming across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, C# and node-based platforms such as Scratch, VVVV, Touch Designer and PureData.

This is a chance for an experienced creator to indulge their passion, be a valued colleague and someone who brings something uniquely their own to the team. First and foremost this should include impressive knowledge and experience in creative technologies, along with hardware, software development, keeping up to date with technological advances in the area. You will have an aptitude for problem solving and assisting students in realising their projects. To do so, you will be adept at communicating to a diverse range of individuals from varying backgrounds and have specialist knowledge and understanding of race, multiculturalism, and diversity.
