The Roles

PROJECT CONTROLLER / CONTROLS ENGINEER
• Create, maintain, update and report on the project deliverable and resource schedules in Primavera or Microsoft Project.
• Evaluate and report schedule deviations, input into change management requirements.
• Support compliance with standardised processes, systems and tools.
• Liaise with managers to establish estimate and schedule compliance with governance requirements.
• Identify, track and secure approval of project changes (budget and forecast) and monitor and escalate project variations with managers.
• Provide input to the project management team and suggest improvements for efficiency.
• Prepare, revise and communicate cost/project control procedures as necessary.
• Prepare consistent and timely reports of project activities.
• Review estimates – verify costs and coding to align scope and schedule.
• Verify coding of timesheets, costs, quantities, progress and other project data for system input.

DESIGN SCHEDULER
• Develop, manage, and maintain design project schedules, ensuring timelines are met.

• Monitor project progress and identify potential scheduling conflicts or delays.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to adjust schedules as needed.
• Prepare detailed reports on project status, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Ensure all scheduling data is accurate and up to date in project management software.
• Provide support in the planning and execution of design project activities.
• Communicate schedule updates and changes to relevant stakeholders promptly.
• Pioneer best practice for use of scheduling software packages including to develop scheduling guidelines, and standardised schedules for repetitive project work.

Your Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in utilities, construction and / or resources industry.
• Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining high level of accuracy.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, schedule and plan day-to-day work.
• Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining an organised and structured project.

The service supports 10 people in an attractive new-build supported housing scheme, commissioned as part of the Transforming Care Programme in Essex. The accommodation has been carefully designed to meet the needs of individuals with a range of needs and special requirements. The service is currently rated as Outstanding by CQC.

All tenants (including current residents) need well planned, personalised support to allow them to make a successful transition to supported living and to become more confident and independent. As a number of service users have forensic histories or can present with high risk behaviours, there is a requirement for positive and robust risk management and effective behaviour support strategies.

As the Registered Service Manager you will ensure that the service is of the highest quality, meeting all CQC standards and contract requirements and that this can be demonstrated through comprehensive quality and contract monitoring processes. You will ensure that the service works in a cohesive and coordinated manner and that service users experience fully integrated care, support and housing.

You will ensure that the care and support delivered is truly personalised and provided in accordance with agreed care plans, enabling service users to enjoy wellbeing, quality of life and community connections. The role:

As the Design Manager you will be:

• Producing design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, appointments and schedules.
• Responsible for the management and delivery of design information in line with agreed design programme and deliverable schedule for projects due to commence on site and in progress.
• Ensuring appointed design consultants and engineers carry out their duties in accordance with their appointment.
• Attending and chairing necessary meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Value Engineering to achieve desired outcomes and maximise project profitability.
• Working collaboratively with pre-construction and delivery teams.
• Ensure design is compliant with planning conditions and legislative requirements.

This Design Manager role is ideal for you if you have/are:

• Previous experience in the same or similar role is essential for either a developer, contractor or consultancy.
• Previous experience in both bid and PCSA stages of two-stage tendering procurement processes.
• Sound technical knowledge of design packages and ability to input at key project stages including consultation selection, procurement and project delivery.
• Educated to degree level or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline.
• A background in Architecture are very desirable.
• Experienced working on multiple projects running concurrently with values in excess of £5m would be an advantage but not essential.

We are seeking a highly committed, proactive and professional Registered Service Manager to lead the operational management of a specialist supported living service located in Braintree. The service has been developed to meet the needs of people who have a learning disability and/or autism and complex needs, including mental health needs and behaviours which can challenge. The service supports 10 people in an attractive new-build supported housing scheme, commissioned as part of the Transforming Care Programme in Essex. The accommodation has been carefully designed to meet the needs of individuals with a range of needs and special requirements. The service is currently rated as Outstanding by CQC.

All tenants (including current residents) need well planned, personalised support to allow them to make a successful transition to supported living and to become more confident and independent. As a number of service users have forensic histories or can present with high risk behaviours, there is a requirement for positive and robust risk management and effective behaviour support strategies.

As the Registered Service Manager you will ensure that the service is of the highest quality, meeting all CQC standards and contract requirements and that this can be demonstrated through comprehensive quality and contract monitoring processes. You will ensure that the service works in a cohesive and coordinated manner and that service users experience fully integrated care, support and housing. You will promote and re-inforce a culture of responsive, person-centered practice and active support across the service, with relationships based on respect and unconditional positive regard.
