What skills and experience we're looking for

We are a forward-thinking, dynamic and thriving Creative Arts department that values innovation, inclusivity, and collaboration. We are now seeking an enthusiastic and talented Deputy Faculty Leader with a specialism in Music to help lead our Creative Arts team to new heights. As the Deputy Faculty Leader, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the leadership and management of the Creative Arts Faculty, with a particular focus on Music. You will work closely with the Faculty Leader to drive forward the vision and strategy of the department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all key stages.

The successful candidate will deliver Music to students across Key Stage 3-5. We welcome applicants with a desire to lead on extra-curricular Music projects, providing students with diverse and enriching experiences that foster their cultural capital. Experience in organizing performances and events, with a keen interest in enhancing students’ musical experiences beyond the classroom would be an advantage.

You would be joining a highly motivated team with a desire to improve in all aspects of teaching and learning and promote the importance of the Creative Arts.

Eckington School is an 11-18 comprehensive secondary school in north-east Derbyshire with more than 1200 students on roll, including the school’s Sixth Form.

What will I be doing?

As a Design Manager, you will work on multiple live projects all based in the Midlands & Yorkshire regions. You will be visiting sites on a weekly basis to ensure everything is going to plan according to the programme. You will also work with the Pre-Construction team to win projects and grow the company.

Your new company
You will be joining a main contractor working on a major water framework in the Midlands region. This multi-accredited organisation has a strong pipeline of work in the water sector, and they offer excellent opportunities for career progression. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Design Manager to join their team.

Your new role
As Design Manager you will be based in their Derby office and be responsible for, but not limited to, leading a multidisciplinary team of design engineers, ensuring design solutions are developed within project budget, establishing and agreeing design costs and programme timescales, establishing working relationships with key stakeholders as well as agreeing design budgets.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will have previous leading and managing multidisciplinary design teams in the water sector and have experience of technical project delivery. In addition, you will ideally hold a degree in an engineering-related discipline (or experience equivalent) and be a delivery-driven individual who is able to hit targets. Finally, you will be able to manage and motivate teams to deliver successfully.
