The Role in Brief:

We are looking for a motivated individual who can join our Technical Documentation Team in a joint role as a graphic designer and typesetter. This role requires exemplary attention to detail and involves being able to follow fixed brand guidelines as set out by our customers.

The Technical Documentation Department helps our clients to create, review and translate instruction manuals, labels, packaging and other technical documents in order to meet the regulatory requirements of the markets they sell their products into. Joining the team as a graphic designer and typesetter, will allow you to be exposed to our technical writing and translation teams, alongside working independently to ensure line drawings and content are suitable for the end consumer.

Key Responsibilities:

Graphic Design:

1) Creating line drawings and graphics based on photos and reference manuals across a wide range of consumer products (electrical items, sports equipment, toys, furniture items, garden items, power tools)
2) Work and adhere to existing brand guidelines and designs as requested by the client

Typesetting:

1) Work closely with the Translation Team and Technical Writing Team to develop target-language InDesign files across 52+ languages, including Asian and European languages.

2) Typesetting tasks include, but are not limited to: choosing the suitable fonts, deciding acceptable font sizes, managing line spacing and organizing the text layout on a page to ensure the translated manual matches the approved master file.

3) Adhering text layout and specific style guide requirements based on clients’ briefing and internal guidelines.

You will be helping our Green Coffee, Corporate and Soluble Coffee Marketing teams with a wide range of stakeholder-facing initiatives, graphic design and marketing activities including developing artwork and designs for online/offline campaigns, merchandise ideation and execution, and a wide range of visual assets. You will also be asked to assist with video & photo editing for social media, advertising and internal communications campaigns. In this role you will be given the freedom to learn and be creative within our collaborative business.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively develop business with FIRST (Finance, IT, Risk, Staff, Trading) to create and implement engaging online/offline visual communications strategies in line with MARCOM's strategy and Group's vision AND provide design support services to the Group
• Design online/offline assets for Marketing, including advertisements, illustrations, information sheets and infographics, social media posts, and general marketing/brand collateral;
• Work with Marketing team to develop and implement visual marketing campaigns and strategies, often with tight turnaround;
• Create and update, when needed, communication assets (PowerPoint decks, information assets and other tools);
• In collaboration with team, develop and maintain procurement and design strategy for goods with marketing overlap (swag items, sample bags, gifts, trays, etc), with focus on sustainable sources and materials and high quality;
• Assist in developing video content for internal & external use and to adapt raw footage for a range of purposes;
• Work with and assist Marketing teams in a range of additional tasks, as needed.

We’re looking for a Junior Jewelry Designer with manufacturing experience to design new and custom jewelry, offer technical expertise, and communicate with jewelry manufacturers. 

This is a full-time position for 40 hours a week in our studio in Bali. However, for the right candidate with a relevant background, we’re open to discussing part-time employment and adapting the responsibilities. 

Expected start date: immediately.

What we expect you will be doing:

• You will create original jewelry designs that align with the company’s brand and aesthetic, complete with 2D mock-ups and design sheets with specifications. 
• You will assist with client consultations, especially for custom jewelry designs, and create sketches and mock-ups based on their requests.
• You will help oversee the manufacturing of our products and liaise with the production of new and custom orders to make sure our quality standards are met and the products are manufactured within the foreseen timeline.
• You will explore new and additional potential manufacturers of our jewelry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Junior Naval Architect, you will play a vital role in the ferry/ship design projects. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for executing drawings, structural calculations, and design for assigned projects. Your work will directly contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality ship designs that meet flag, classification societies, and technical specification requirements. With a focus on meeting project schedules and allocated design budgets, you will have the opportunity to showcase your technical skills and problem-solving abilities. In addition to your design responsibilities, you will provide technical support to the Structural Design Team, fabrication, and supply chain.  RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Execute drawings, naval architecture, structural calculations, and design for assigned ferry/ship design projects:

• Utilize your knowledge of naval architecture principles and design standards to create accurate and detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and requirements.
• Apply structural engineering principles to perform calculations related to ship stability, strength, and performance.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as engineers and designers, to ensure the integration of various design components into the overall ship design.

2. Perform design and calculations with limited supervision to ensure compliance:

• Demonstrate your ability to work independently and efficiently, taking ownership of assigned design tasks and completing them within designated timeframes.
• Adhere to flag and classification societies' rules and regulations, ensuring that the designs meet all necessary standards and certifications.
• Conduct thorough analyses of design specifications to ensure that the ship is fit for its intended purpose and operational requirements.

3.  Generate deliverables such as drawings, reports, and other relevant structural documentation:

• Prepare clear and comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, reports, and technical specifications, to communicate design concepts and requirements effectively.
• Create detailed reports on structural analyses, presenting findings and recommendations to the project team and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as the Structural Design Team, fabrication, and supply chain, to provide the necessary technical support and ensure smooth project execution.

4. Supervise structural designers and draftspersons as required:

• Provide guidance and support to junior team members, ensuring their understanding of project requirements and adherence to design standards.
• Review and evaluate the work of structural designers and draftspersons, providing constructive feedback to ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables.

Essential:

• Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in ship design/shipbuilding.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to problem solve.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, and preferably STRAND (or other Finite Element Analysis package) and Maxsurf.
• Experience in supervising teams.

Desirable:

• Licensed Philippine Naval Architect and Marine Engineer.
• Experience in aluminium shipbuilding.
• Familiarity with 3D SHIP CAD software (SHIPCON).
• Proficiency in other 3D modeling software
