To deliver this vision, the B2C Ecommerce Technology Solutions Organization is hiring for a key role that will be pivotal in spearheading the vision, working with key stakeholders across the digital value chain and drive these outcomes for our customers and our business.
Job Summary/ Position Overview:
We are looking for a Principal Platform Architect with a track record of designing and implementing large and complex commerce technology solutions at global scale to design and develop the next generation commerce platform for HP using Adobe Commerce. She/he will be responsible for defining customer oriented end-to-end commerce solutions that’s focused on bringing to market product/service offerings in support of all HP’s business functions.
This role will work in tight partnership with the Commercial Organization, Business Technology, Data & Analytics, and other functions/organizations, in identifying high-value opportunities to explore, adopt and use of integrated and innovative end-to-end digital solutions, leveraging existing and new platforms and tools.
The ideal candidate would have a solid foundation in hands-on software development, architecture, and design, and would require a balance of product-centric technical expertise and ability to navigate complex solutions with multiple platforms, systems, and teams.
The candidate must have demonstrated experience in building large scale Adobe Commerce retail eCommerce systems using PWA and other headless commerce architecture in a large enterprise with several connected systems. Retail experience with focus on seasonal loads and performance requirements is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate to develop the ecommerce platform architecture to drive reusability, quality, and consistency.
- Lead architects and technical leads in designs and design reviews.
- Review and provide guidance on implementation details ecommerce platform.
- Design services-oriented architecture for a headless ecommerce platform.
- Designing APIs for headless ecommerce platform.
- Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
- Oversees the adherence to standards of software application development projects across multiple teams.
- Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for software applications design and development across multiple platforms and organizations.
- Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
- Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of software applications design and development innovation and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field.
- Proven experience in ecommerce platform, including leading teams and design of such systems.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms, technologies, and trends.
- Proven track record of driving maturity growth in teams and software platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing APIs (HTTP-based, ReST, GraphQL, etc.).
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in architecting and deploying Adobe Commerce.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing headless platforms with a focus on ecommerce.
- Demonstrated experience with designing, implementing, and deploying scalable and performant web applications at global scale.
- Demonstrated experience designing multi-tenant SaaS systems.
- Experience in client-side and server-side technologies such as ReactJS, Angular, as well as microservices, container technologies, cloud services such as AWS or Azure and other server technologies such as NodeJS, Spring Cloud.
- Experience in Configuration Management, DevOps automation.
- Experience with Kubernetes (or other container technologies), Azure or AWS cloud, Redis, Fastly, RabbitMQ etc.
- Experience in performance testing and tuning.
- Expertise of complex software systems, including enterprise, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems.
- Expert business acumen and knowledge of root cause analysis and problem detection.
- Experience designing and developing software applications design tools and languages.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in overall architecture of software applications for products and solutions.
- Designing and integrating software applications running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
- Evaluating and selecting forms and processes for software applications testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
