Role responsibility:
You would be based in a team that are responsible for processing disabled bays and a range of parking permits. You would be office based and responsible for opening, scanning post, printing permits and associated work. In addition, you will be asked to assess, and process permit applications. You will be communicating with members of the public relating to their query.
Types of parking permits and queries you may encounter:
- bus passes - concessionary travel pass
- Blue Badges
- disabled parking bays
- electric vehicles
- parking signs and lines
- penalty charge notices
- parking permits
- refunds for parking permits and tickets
- any other parking queries
We work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver a range of services, to keep our highways safe and moving freely, and therefore our work is varied where no two days are ever the same.
Skills
- Strong Administrative skills
- Great Customer Service and telephone skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills are required to communicate with people at all levels, dealing with disputes, difficult and hostile situations in a calm and tactful manner.
- Ability to undertake financial duties (such as gathering supporting document for Fixed Penalty Notices, Permit fees, Section 74 Charges and Sample and Defect inspection charges
- The ability to work with minimal supervision in a busy office environment whilst prioritising and organising a varying workload.
- The ability to utilise a number of computer databases specific to the job as well as various Microsoft office systems.
