Our school provides a unique educational experience for children and young people with autism, emphasizing each child's academic, social, emotional, and physical development. We create bespoke learning experiences and focus on celebrating each student's talents and successes. The School Administrator plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of the school, serving as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors. This role involves a variety of administrative tasks, including managing communication, maintaining records, and supporting the overall administrative functions of the school. However, this person will be working primarily with the SENCO Team to support the annual EHCP review process, with the exams officer to supportt he smooth running of the exams season and with the DSL to provide DDSL support. Key Responsibilities: • Greet and assist visitors, parents, and students in a professional and friendly manner. • Take minutes and record actions during annual review meetings. • Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages and handling inquiries promptly and efficiently. • Maintain accurate and organized student records, attendance logs, and other administrative files. • Assist with the enrolment process, including handling applications, scheduling tours, and providing information to prospective families. • Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and events for staff working in the SENCO, safeguarding and exam teams. • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, distributing, and posting. • Provide administrative support to the school leadership team, including drafting correspondence, preparing reports, and managing calendars. • Assist with the coordination of school activities and events, such as parent-teacher conferences, open houses, and school functions. • Manage office supplies, ordering and restocking as needed. • Perform other administrative tasks and duties as assigned to support the school's operations. Qualifications and Experience: • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office software. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. • Professional demeanour and appearance. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
