• Undertaking emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient way on all production equipment
• Owning small scale projects and delivering them in a pragmatic and proactive manner

• Participating in root cause analysis so repeat failures can be eliminated
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the engineering function through your own observations and experience
• Welding and Fabricating to a good standard
• Working with risk assessments and method statements
• Contributing to the preparation and development of safe working methods for repair procedures
• Maintaining and promoting Health & Safety rules and regulations, following all company processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate for the role of Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work with minimal supervision. You should also demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment. Suitable candidates for the role of Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will:

• Have a recognised apprenticeship (preferably a higher-level standard)
• ONC/HNC (desirable but not essential)
• Have a strong, practical mechanical systems background, heavy industry preferred - conveyors, drive systems – motors, belts, pumps, gearboxes, crushers, vibratory screens
• Possess a fault finding ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate action
• Possess the ability to remove and fit bearings
• Be capable of undertaking emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient manner on all production equipment
• IT literate - capable of using PCs, common applications and company systems
• Ability to assess SHE risks arising from work activities and control risks accordingly

Job Description

This post is fixed term until 31/03/2025.

We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated individual, capable of supporting care experienced and disadvantaged young people to realise their potential within and through education, contributing to a positive experience and a positive leavers’ destination.

You will be required to:

• Build effective relationships with the young people in scope
• Build exceptional individual relationships with all MCR young people, especially during primary school transitions and in S1 and S2 through delivery of MCR group work
• Actively support all young people in S3 to S6 scope to participate and to get the maximum benefits from their mentoring relationships.
• Ensure the young people benefit from all other aspects of the MCR model including setting, experiencing and following their education / employment pathways; Talent Tasters; the Ambassador programme and other relevant 3rd party experiences that are on offer
• Produce case studies and good news stories utilising quantitative outcomes and qualitative feedback (with young person voice at the heart) to evidence progression, programme impact and best practice.
• Continue to keep in touch and, where appropriate, support young people in scope who don’t yet participate and/or are disengaged

Please note you will be required to pay for the cost of this application if your salary is over £38,000 per annum, which will be deducted from your first pay.
