Nottingham City Council's Multi Systemic Therapy Child Abuse and Neglect (MST CAN ) Team are looking for the ideal candidate to join or team as an MST CAN Therapist (1 post)

MST CAN is a home-based intensive treatment for families with children and young people subject to a Child Protection Plan under the category of neglect or physical harm. It is an evidenced based treatment that has been developed to work with families with complex needs, in order to increase safety and keep children at home. MST CAN works to address specific problems and risk factors that brought the family to the attention of Children's Social Care. The major goals are to keep families together, assure that children are safe, prevent abuse and neglect and reduce mental health difficulties experienced by adults and children and increase natural support networks.

MST CAN adopts an intensive approach (numerous sessions per week) and works with families in their natural ecology (their home, school and wider community) rather than in a clinical setting. Appointments are made to meet the family's needs and an MST CAN practitioner is available 24/7 to all families in treatment through an on call facility.

You will have a professional qualification in a relevant field e.g. in Social Work, Mental Health and also have experience and knowledge of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapist, and/or pragmatic behavioural interventions. Full training and continuous professional development in the MST CAN model will be provided. Therapist receive weekly supervision from the MST CAN Manager and clinical consultation from MST Services.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified to post graduate level in relevant field, e.g. social work, mental health nursing, clinical/forensic psychology, health specialism or relevant equivalent.
• Strong Understanding and practical experience of the case management process including assessment, analysis, planning and intervention and review and how it promotes good outcomes for the children and families.
• Significant experience of family based interventions with young people.
• Experience of direct use of a therapeutic model of working with families e.g. CBT, SFBT, systemic family therapy or behavioural approaches.

The role is based in the Corporate Programme Management Office which forms part of the Chief Executives Directorate. The prime function of the role is to manage the Tram Private Finance Initiative contract on behalf of the Authority . Job purpose
The experienced Children and Young Person’s Crisis Support Worker will provide sensitive, client-centered, non–judgmental support to survivors, aged 17 and under, of sexual violence. This will include providing advocacy support for clients during forensic medical examinations.

Responsibilities

To work as part of the initial response team of clinicians, forensic physicians, police officers and EMCYPSAS management team to deliver a high standard of service for clients referred to EMCYPSAS by the Police or who self-refer.
To be responsible for thorough forensic cleaning of the forensic suite following a forensic medical examination.
To provide cover for EMCYPSAS helpline and Email contacts, answering calls and responding to emails, acting as a first point of contact, providing information and support on topics relating to sexual violence to clients, families and carers and professionals who call the helpline or send emails and responding to the needs of clients who self-refer.
Essential experience, qualifications and skills

Evidence of relevant professional experience working with children and young people (CYP) in a supporting role.
Knowledge of issues experienced by children and young people and in particular in relation to sexual violence and safeguarding.
Experience of working in a multi-agency setting and partnerships working with a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies.

• To ensure that the advice is interpreted and managed within local policies and national guidance to direct payments, provider payments, deferred payments, residential and non-residential assessments.
• To ensure that complex data management is provided on behalf of the local authority and falls within local policies and national guidance to process and maintain direct payments, provider payments, deferred payments, residential and non-residential
• To manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively and extract data to help support any service user complaints/requests (including SARS or FOI).
• Effectively communicate with outside bodies such as legal service organisations etc.
• To deal with routine correspondence and telephone enquiries of a personal and confidential nature pertaining to service user's financial details and the payments to service providers.
• To deal with daily incoming and outgoing post for the direct payments, provider payments, deferred payments, residential and non-residential assessments teams within agreed timescales and deadlines.
• To work together with your colleagues in reviewing and updating procedures to improve quality and consistency.
• To maintain effective working relationships with Lincolnshire County Council staff, providers of services, service users, and other professionals.
• To maintain computer and manual filing systems.

Payments Assistant (Hybrid) needed in Nottingham, £12.18ph PAYE - Reference: RQ1406473

Temporary initially for 6 months with the view to go permanent in the future.

Working hours will be from 8:00-9:00am and finishing 4:00/5:00pm (when fully trained). Whilst training start time to be 08:30-09:00am.

Successful candidate will be expected to work from the office whilst training and Once trained the worker will be given the option to work from home 2/3 days.
Due to the nature of the job its required to be in the office 1/2 days a week.

Parking Available

1. To work to defined business standards and processes; performing specific finance and clerical tasks with due regard to confidentiality and safeguarding.
2. To create, process and examine purchase orders and invoices to ensure they comply with Financial Regulations, relevant departmental procedures and statutory guidance.
3. To clarify and resolve queries from suppliers, service users, external agencies, organisations and staff within the authority in connection with this role.
4. To process payments to and recover overpayments from a range of internal carers, using bespoke IT software.
5. Undertake and complete financial assessments on carers who meet eligibility criteria for the payment of specific allowances.
6. To provide advice and guidance to internal and external customers relating to the post holders area of work
7. To ensure the effective maintenance of manual and computerised information systems and procedures, ensuring the efficient and timely processing of financial data, reports, statistics and other management information
8. To undertake accountancy and reconciliation duties

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
