The Facilities Manager is a key role accountable for the management of total facilities services across our two hospices and our retail sites. They will be accountable for the fabric of the hospice buildings and tangible assets, including short, medium and long term planned preventative maintenance, contract and contractor management, security and energy sustainability. They will be the nominated competent person ensuring health and safety legislative and policy compliance. A key focus of the position is to deliver safety excellence, drive operational efficiencies and provide management information to the Executive Management Team. The Facilities Manager leads the development of a high-performing team of technical employees, who can provide exceptional levels of customer service across all of the Charity work locations. This includes embedding a culture of efficiency and collaboration that aligns to the Charitys values. Facilities Develop and implement a programme of planned maintenance for all of the Charity locations, including retail stores, to ensure that the premises and the equipment within are fit for purpose, maintained in a serviceable condition, meet relevant safety standards and are in good working order. Develop a charity wide asset register to demonstrate condition, life cycles and service intervals to be used to drive facilities budgeting and forecasting. Develop and utilise the facilities system to be a leading tool demonstrating the completion of maintenance tasks for premises and equipment as well as remedial actions, compliance recording and auditing Coordinate and control all building works and refurbishments, planning for minimum disturbance to the patients, visitors, customers and employees. Liaison with wider primary care MDT and community services, including OOH services to ensure high quality and timely care in the home. Lead daily community huddle. Previous experience working with pupils within a school setting is desirable but school are happy to consider candidates with other experience of working with children and young people from other settings including sports coaching, residential and care.

In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria;

Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3) (desirable)
Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
Have previous experience of working with children in the last 2 years
Excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks
Previous KS1 experience
Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
Two references working with children
Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one

This role is Supporting a male with autism who is non-verbal, has a learning disability and is epileptic. He can display behaviours that challenge and signs of anxiety and distress. He is unaware of danger and requires support in most aspects of his life. He has a good sense of humour and very much enjoys company. He also enjoys 'people watching', swimming, baking, indoor activities, bowling, going to a 4DX cinema and being a bit of an adrenaline junkie likes going on fairground 'waltzers'! He goes on the occasional walk as long as it's not too far. He will need support with maintaining his own home, promoting independence and supporting to health appointments.

The young male will need support with maintaining his own home, promoting independence and supporting with aspects of his daily living. Staff will need to be able to drive his motability car.
