This physician will work in the pain clinic alongside a multidisciplinary team of pain management staff within the Pain Clinic Section. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing treatment recommendations for a wide range of pain syndrome diagnoses through interventional procedures, behavioral health and bio psycho-social aspects of chronic pain management.
- Review/Perform outpatient pain management consults and follow-ups.
- Provide patient education, evaluations, and treatment services in the Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Program.
- Perform core and specialized interventional pain management procedures under fluoroscopic guidance.
- Confers with and serves as a consultant to other clinicians.
- Restore maximum function lost through injury, illness or disabling conditions.
- Provide various levels of care such as evaluating medical histories, completing physical exams, orders, analyzing appropriate tests and laboratory exams. Prescribe rehabilitation and whole health services.
- Provide at times care via multiple modalities, including VA Video Connect (VVC) along with Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) besides face-to-face services to patients as needed to deliver pain management services across the entire healthcare system.
- Provide e-consultation to medical center providers related to questions about pain management.
- Provide counseling to patients and families.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with other medical and mental health care providers.
- Work with the multidisciplinary team which includes, but is not limited to Interventional Pain Management Physicians, NP, Pain clinic Providers, Pain Psychologists, Pharmacists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Recreation Therapist and Registered Nurses.
- Provide oversight of training residents/students rotating in Pain clinic with participation in the education program.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
