Working Pattern:
36 hours per week/39 weeks per year. 8.30am – 4.12pm with a 30 minute unpaid break
We have an exciting opportunity for a Year Manager to join the team at Howard of Effingham School. As with all of our Support Staff roles at the Howard, this role ultimately supports students by contributing to students’ learning activities by managing the day to day business of the Year Team, and assisting with all aspects of students’ progress, including their personal and social development.
A good general education is required, together with a relevant vocational qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 3 e.g. Support Work in Schools Qualifications Level 3 (SWIS) or equivalent qualification related to working with children and/or young people is desirable.
The successful applicant will be able to: communicate sensitively and effectively with colleagues, parents and students; inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential; to recognise and respond effectively to equal opportunities issues and to support the inclusion of all students. Excellent written and presentation skills are also essential, together with a knowledge and understanding of child development and learning.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and English, or equivalent or able to evidence ability at an equivalent level, together with experience of working in a similar service environment. The ability to work with others to provide excellent customer service is essential, as are good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build sound relationships with staff and customers. Competency in a range of IT skills is a must, together with the ability to plan and prioritise your own workload.
