Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of their students. You will work closely with teachers to support the learning and development of students with varying abilities, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and can participate fully in all school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programs to meet individual student needs.
- Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them to understand and complete tasks.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Collaborate with educational professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support students in developing social skills and emotional resilience.
- Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field is preferred (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently when required.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
