Novate Global Markets (NGM) is an independent securities boutique specialising in sales and trading services for institutional investors in global fixed income markets. Having recently transitioned from Mitsubishi UFJ Trust International Limited, a fixed income sales and trading business operating within Mitsubishi Trust and Banking, to employee ownership in September 2024, with 24% shareholding still retained by MUTB, NGM is looking to continue to drive excellence within its service of tailored sales and trading strategies to its diverse institutional clients.
NGM headquarters are based in London, with a branch in Singapore - NGM has 60 employees across both locations.
Role Summary
As one of our Desk Assistants, you will be working within a diverse and lively Dealing Room alongside 30 salespersons and traders across London and Singapore. This role will be suitable for someone with a real interest in developing a career within Fixed Income and who is willing to immerse themselves into a variety of tasks to build their knowledge within the Financial Sector.
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure all trade tickets are executed and processed promptly and accurately
- Review trade tickets to ensure the correct information has been included and calculate profit
- Prepare end of day reports and update any ad hoc reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting, this includes but is not limited to customer transaction data, sales credits, counterparty, and product volume statistics
- Prepare MI relating to the new Settlement Agent
- Liaise with the Dealing Room and Operations Staff to help resolve any live or ongoing problems/queries
- Attend the 7.20am (3.20pm Singapore time) daily morning (afternoon) meeting between London and Singapore to productively listen to key recent market events, ideas, and select client business
- Provide assistance to the Sales and Trading desk when required, including ordering and collecting refreshments
- Undertake general administrative duties as required by the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or above (preferably Economics’ or Finance related courses)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
