An exciting opportunity has arisen within Queen Square to appoint a permanent Deputy Matron at Band 8a. This post will support the Matron in providing leadership of the nursing teams, setting clinical standards and ensuring the delivery of quality care across the inpatient wards, outpatient areas as well as specialist areas within Queen Square Division. The area covered is diverse in scope, spanning across Neurology and Specialist Services.
Working with the Matron, this role will be pivotal in supporting the Quality and Safety and audit lead for the Hospital to co-ordinate all aspects of clinical governance, risk management, investigating incidents, patient safety and promoting a culture of learning and improvement for all clinical staff.
A particularly exciting part of this role is to support areas in identifying ways in which to improve and supporting the nursing team to deliver sustainable change which will support both excellent patient care as well as improve staff wellbeing.
The expectation for this role is to be an integral part of the Queen Square Management Team; facilitating, developing and co-ordinating clinical risk management within the Division and ensuring change of practice is consistent. This includes the completion of audits, involvement in Root cause analysis and providing written evidence to support Clinical governance changes in practice.
We are looking for a highly self -motivated individual who is able to plan and organise their own workload without supervision and make decisions independently. The applicant must have significant experience in leading and managing nursing / clinical teams must have excellent communication skills, leadership skills, be innovative and demonstrate continued academic development essential for the role
