The Optometry Health Technician is a key member of the Eye Care treatment team and is responsible for assisting the Ophthalmology and Optometry staff/resident physicians in all aspects of patient care.

Duties include, but may not be limited to:

• Obtains a detailed history from each patient
• Reviews patient medical record for appropriateness of follow-up appointment
• Maintains supplies and ophthalmic pharmaceuticals needed in the exam room

Duties
This position is located in the Green Bay CBOC, WI in Supply Chain Management Division. The Materials performs warehouse work that involves receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. The primary purpose of this position is to provide warehousing, distribution and receiving of supplies goods and equipment.

Major Duties:
-Receives incoming shipments and checks the items against the electronic purchase orders and other related documentation to verify correctness.
-Records, annotates and forwards all appropriate information in accordance with current procedures and notes discrepancies such as shortages and damages.
-Maintains the flow of the warehouse by moving, delivering, shelving, storing and inventorying materials and equipment per appropriate procedure.
-Works with the Warehouse supervisor and Equipment Inventory Management Specialists to ensure the appropriate disposition of equipment.
-Places items appropriately on shelving, pallets on bins to ensure adequate safeguards and access.
-Prepares authorized materials for shipment both small package and bulk.
-Sorts and delivers incoming mail, picking up intra-office and processing outgoing mail, supporting the mail center with off campus deliveries.
-Operates and maintains a variety of powered industrial vehicles, including powered hand trucks, fork lifts, and other vehicles.
-Electronically receiving items into inventory, scanning floor stock, picking and filling orders, putting and stocking shelves in primary and secondary inventory points in a clean/sterile environment.

The Advanced Scheduling Clerk was established as a part of the national initiative, Community Care Coordination, in which all facilities are now directed to coordinate all non -VA medical care appointments for the Veteran. The Advance Scheduling clerk performs a variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed in the Community Care unit.

The Advanced Medical Support Assistant duties consist of but are not limited to the following:

• Assists Veterans with scheduling appointments with clinical providers.
• Follow-up after appointment to ensure attendance, and check-up for additional procedures.
• Informs providers in any change to patient's Community Care medical appointment.
• Prepares medical documentation for scanning into Veteran's electronic medical record.
• Regular meetings with supervisor and Community Care Nurses to manage and coordinate patient care.
• Schedules appointments and processes authorizations utilizing HSRM, CTM, CPRS, DST, Consult Toolbox.
• Guides patients through the Community Care programs, inputs referrals, sends authorizations, documents complaints, and provides follow-up and suggests resolutions to supervisor.
