In conjunction with the Head of HR lead the Doctors annual appraisal process ensuring the appropriate development and quality assurance of the process. This will include ensuring all medical staff are appropriately revalidated and that the Organisation obtains evidence of this. The Medical Director is the lead for clinical governance in conjunction with the Clinical Director and Head of Nursing and has responsibility and accountability for all quality and clinical governance issues. This will include ensuring that effective systems are in place to maintain the highest standards of clinical governance and full compliance with the provisions of the Care Quality Commission essential standards to ensure patient safety. Develop, in conjunction with the Clinical Director, effective organisational arrangements that enables the Organisation to meet its strategic aims within a framework of strong, effective governance. In conjunction with the Head of Quality and Safety, ensure that appropriate systems, structures, performance management arrangements and training are in place to promote sound governance including awareness of clinical governance, learning from incidents and including input into customer service/complaints where relevant. In conjunction with the Head of Nursing, Clinical Director and Head of Quality & Safety develop an approach to clinical risk management fostering a culture of openness and transparency ensuring robust systems are in place to identify, assess and minimise the exposure of the company to clinical risk.
