Responsibilities

• Providing expert advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of employment law issues.
• Conducting negotiations, mediations and settlement discussions on behalf of clients.
• Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Advising on disciplinary and grievance matters, redundancy procedures and employment dismissals.
• Staying up-to-date with changes in employment legislation and proactively advising clients on the implications for their business.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or Legal Executive with proven experience in employment law.
• Experience in handling both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
• Solid understanding of UK employment legislation case law, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide commercially-focused advice to clients.

RPS is looking for an Associate Director within the Ecology team in Birmingham, Cambridge, Southampton and other locations. The candidate will grow, manage and support the ecological team delivering master planning inputs, ecological appraisals, ornithological surveys and studies, other protected species surveys, mitigation design and construction and post-construction supervision and monitoring. Your role

You will have the opportunity to benefit from an exciting and diverse workload, delivering high quality support for private and public-sector clients across the UK including exciting infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

You will be building up long-lasting client relationships, generating and effectively managing new business and have responsibility for financial planning and management. You'll project manage a wide and varied workload and supervise field staff and survey effort and have technical oversight and sign-off on project output.

You'll also: undertake site surveys, carry out ecological impact assessments as well as ecological mitigation design and implementation.

There will be travel involved for which we will provide a car allowance so you will need to have a full UK driving licence.
Your skills and experience

We would like you to have full membership of CIEEM and have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. You'll need to be an established ecological consultant, have extensive project management experience and have worked in consultancy. You'll be used to leading a team and be great at developing good client relationships to secure repeat business and gain new clients.

Bat or other protected species; ornithological or botanical experience is essential as is the ability to plan and undertake habitat surveys and to identify indicator plant species and habitat types. You'll have full knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation and best practice survey techniques

General Duties 1. Key Responsibilities:

• Champion a culture of exceptional safety and quality standards among direct workforce and subcontractors
• Implement and uphold the Business Management System (BMS) throughout all project stages, ensuring compliance from tender handover to project completion

• Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent certification
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
• Extensive expertise in project delivery, with strategic, operational, technical, and management capabilities
• Familiarity with Construction Contracts, particularly NEC and/or IChemE, including negotiation and administration skills

Desirable:

• Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants
• Chartered status with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution
• NEC Project Manager Accreditation
