Who we are It is an exciting time to join the Environmental Permitting and Compliance Division. The government has announced that it will establish a national environment protection agency, Environment Protection Australia (EPA) to provide assurance and trust in the enforcement of national environmental laws. The Product Emission Standards Program regulatory roles are expected to transition to the independent EPA in the period ahead. The Wildlife, Waste, and Environmental Permits Branch regulates wildlife trade, sea dumping, waste exports, hazardous waste, the national television and computer recycling scheme, air quality emissions standards and environmental contamination, to conserve, protect and sustainably manage our environment for the benefit of the Australian and international community.
