PA to Director LCSC

Serco is contracted to provide Total Facilities Management to the Defence Academy of the UK (DA). This prestigious establishment is responsible for post-graduate education and most of the command, staff, leadership, Defence management, acquisition, and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civil Servants. Serco supports the DA as the MOD's primary link with UK universities and international military educational institutions. Serco have an exciting new role as a PA to the Director of LCSC. You will provide personal and confidential high level administrative service. You will be a frontline point of contact, ensuring the efficient running of their office and meeting all the requirements for personal secretarial support.
Key Accountabilities:
- Actively engage with induction processes to ensure the successful completion of own and colleague’s probationary periods, supporting colleague development.
- Assist Lead Admin/Specialist Co-ord/Team Leader or other departmental staff to undertake all required admin tasks, focussing on delivering service excellence.
- Take a pro-active role within the department to liaise with your colleagues and customers and be fully conversant with your workload including effective assertive and tactful communication with your Serco/Military/Customer colleagues & Academic Provider.
- Carry out information administration duties on behalf of senior personnel, ensuring compliance with internal policy and processes and relevant legislation including the Data Protection 2018 and Public Records Act.
- Coordination and control of electronic diary, making sensible judgements based on knowledge and experience.
- Production, amendment and maintenance of any assigned spreadsheets and databases.
- Creation, review and update any assigned work instructions relevant to your role.
- Maintaining adequate stationery levels and re-ordering as required.
- Such other duties and responsibilities in support of Serco business and as requested by Serco line manager or senior management.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Good level of general education, with GCSE’s (A-C) or equivalent in English (essential) and Maths.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, using a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour).
- Ability to work on own and also contribute to team effectiveness.
- Microsoft Office experience
