The Commercial Strategy & Innovation (CSI) role is responsible for providing end-to-end strategy in accessing new vaccine opportunities in China, driving the new product development process through proactively cooperating with cross functional teams. This will be achieved through management and facilitation of new product business assessment, development strategy, prioritization, investment decisions, market development and eventual successful handover to inline business unit.
In addition, the role is responsible for building up the China vaccine pipeline through ongoing strategic market assessments & evaluations of Pfizer’s global pipeline and external opportunities.
Success will be met through exceptionally close coordination and partnership with CSI global vaccine team, CSI Business Assessment team, CSI Competitive Intelligence team, Development China team, Local Medical/Regulatory, Business Units, Market Access, Finance, PGS, Legal and external experts in academia, health, and the Government (MOH, NMPA, CDC).
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and execute on a China vaccine strategy to balance near-term and long-term priorities.
• Evaluate and define product and market opportunity & forecast the impact on overall business.
• Ensure successful coordination with global teams to timely integrate key market analysis into New Product assessment, prioritization, and investment decision.
• Cooperating with cross-function team to develop life cycle plans for compounds from IND stage through loss of exclusivity in China.
• Successful hand over of brands to in-line brand team.
• Lead BD business case development and commercial assessment
• Cultivate external opinion leader relationship,
• Establish necessary professional relationships with government authority and external contacts.
• Support BU head for China pipeline Portfolio Strategy within global leaders/TAs responsibility.
• Develop recommendations for portfolio prioritization and investment. Leverage and influence various stakeholders and ensure successful team deliverables.
• Work closely with Global CSI teams and maximize New Product opportunity for China (Global engagement to understand product, priorities, global strategy, regional trends, etc.)
• Lead cross TAs ad hoc projects as planned. Lead & partner with cross functional teams of Regulatory, Clinical/R&D, Medical Affairs, etc. colleagues to ensure effective communication and implementation/refinement of process
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 10+ years’ experience in pharma/biotech marketing, product management, new product planning, business development or strategic planning, with a strong understanding of China pharma market and solid track record in accelerating pipeline launch in China.
• Undergraduate degree qualifications in Medical, Pharmacy or healthcare related discipline. Other qualifications in business/marketing will be considered as well. Preferred: Postgraduate or MBA qualification in Marketing or similar.
• Experience leading and working with cross functional project teams and track record of promoting collaborative work environment.
• Demonstrating ability for revenue forecast development and scenario building.
• Demonstrating ability for pipeline portfolio planning and management.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, financial analysis and forecasting skills.
