Responsibilities

In partnership with University Communications staff, create and coordinate the implementation of strategic, multi-faceted communications, develop content strategies, and maintain and update the university’s editorial style guide.

As editor of the biannual Furman magazine, the weekly campus e-newsletter, the President’s Report and other print and digital publications, the director will develop story ideas, write and edit copy, manage writers, and direct designers and other partners to develop creative content on deadline.

Manage print and digital publication schedules, share and pitch story ideas in weekly news meeting, and manage the Furman news site in partnership with the Director of News and Media Strategy.

Assist with producing internal communications that support the university’s brand and strategic messaging and provide regular, meaningful and consistent information about activities across the university and among alumni and donors.

Work in collaboration with the digital marketing and brand strategy and visual communications teams to develop, execute and monitor communications plans, programs and campaigns in collaboration with key university offices and departments.

Summary

Under supervision of the Director, Undergraduate Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions provides leadership and support in the development and implementation of the overall recruitment plan and their assigned territory. Oversees key recruitment strategies, and leads the administration of Recruitment & Admissions with assistance from their Admissions Counselor and Admissions Support Coordinator.  The Associate Director is responsible for targeted recruitment initiatives, developing, supervising and training Admissions Counselors.  The Associate Director leads in developing plans and initiatives to recruit qualified candidates.

Essential Functions

Work with Director, Undergraduate Admissions to achieve enrollment goals for all undergraduate programs.

• Contribute to the creation and execution of recruitment plans in alignment with Freshmen, Transfer and International student goals.

• Collaborate with Director to establish strategic direction, priorities and goals for Recruitment & Admissions.

• Takes leadership in the development, execution, and continuous evaluation of short- and long-term student recruitment strategies.

• Make data-informed proposals and decisions, linking to measurable outcomes while seeking both standard and creative ways to achieve enrollment goals.

• Develop and implement a coordinated program of outreach to prospective students, their parents, high school counselors and colleges and universities.

• Monitor statewide, national and international educational and enrollment trends to continuously improve the admissions process and services.

Management of a specific recruitment territory of a prospect/applicant pool

• Plan, organize and implement a data driven recruitment strategy for traditional undergraduate students to meet overall university enrollment goals by utilizing available tools.

• Travel extensively to assigned recruitment territories including college fairs at high schools and community colleges, individual high school and community college visits, presentations to student clubs and organizations, related recruitment events.

• Create and implement a creative communication strategy for the prospective students and applicants designed to provide the appropriate information to the student based on their movement along the enrollment continuum.  Tailor messages for prospect/applicant depending on their stage in the recruitment funnel

• Work autonomously and independently while also participating and working collaboratively with the rest of the undergraduate admissions team to meet enrollment goals.

• Engage the university community in developing cross-functional partnerships to enhance the prospective student experience.

• Participate in both on-campus and off-campus recruitment events for prospective students, accepted students, and brand awareness within various communities

• Maintain regular contact with educational partners and counselor colleagues to build viable prospect and applicant pools of undergraduate students.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior campus leadership, faculty, committees and colleagues throughout campus to ensure a productive working relationship, as well as provide information and needs relating to our recruitment efforts and events.

• Work with the Office of Financial Aid to ensure coordinated message about access to financial aid and access to the University.

Keep abreast and knowledgeable on performing official and unofficial transcript evaluations and complete Transfer Evaluation Reports as needed

• Ensure institutions are accredited and courses can be transferred.

• Evaluate transfer transcript coursework and foreign transcript evaluations for Barry equivalencies.

• Determine credit system of other institutions and convert to semester hours when needed.

• Use current tools, such as College Board’s Transfer Evaluation system and Transferology to determine course equivalencies.

• Review all articulation agreements and process evaluation accordingly.

• Research course descriptions via institution’s websites, course catalogs, syllabi, American Council on Education publications, etc. as needed to determine course equivalencies.

• Request syllabus when needed to make a transfer credit determination.

• When new equivalencies have been determined, ensure information is provided to update Transferology.

• Collaborate with colleagues, faculty and departments to ensure accurate decisions on eqQuuivalencies and processes.

• Enter transferable courses into the degree audit module.

• Complete Transfer Evaluation Report and send to student.

• Communicate with transfer students clarifying next steps in admission process.

• Extensive statewide, national, and international travel is required.

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Director, Finance Systems and Analytics is responsible for the implementation, technical support and improvement of various Finance technology applications – including Workday Finance and Jaggaer - acting as technical lead for project workstreams related to data conversion, integration and reporting.

They lead efforts internally and externally to ensure that leading-edge technologies are employed efficiently and effectively, working with all levels of the business including Finance functional business partners, central ITS and vendors.

The Associate Director serves as the technology business partner to implement systems, innovative solutions, and best practice processes to promote overall organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and cost optimization.  In addition, they will work directly with department directors and managers, and other Northeastern stakeholders to understand current challenges, document business requirements, provide expertise and plan and deliver cost effective solutions that meet the University’s needs.

In addition, the Associate Director will manage the Finance Systems Support & Analytics team on day-to-day activities including system configuration, technical issue resolution, understanding business processes and requirements, system capabilities/limitations, testing new functionality and understanding our complex data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally acquired through a bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Finance or a related field plus at least 7 years experience in finance systems management or a related role
• Proven work experience and results in leading complex projects, particularly technology implementations

Job Overview

This Assistant Director for Academic Year Assignments has responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

Academic Year Housing Assignments

• Oversee all new student housing assignments - from application development, to external communication, and assignments processes
• Support the Housing Selection process during the pre-selection and development stages, including the planning of the annual housing fair event(s)
• Administer the manual summer assignments process of students to on-campus residential spaces
• Provide leadership in new housing initiatives as University owned housing capacity increases in the next several years

Compliance Management

• Oversee housing compliance applications, managing Senior Eligibility, Junior Swap, and Residency Exemption to ensure campus occupancy numbers maintain revenue requirements
• Uphold housing policies and enforce contractual agreements, in accordance with University policies to promote safe and formative living environments; and make appropriate referrals to Residential Education staff for consultation and mediation, when necessary
• Conduct reconciliation of semesterly room changes and deposit refunds
• Process paperwork and follow protocol for inactive students withdrawing from campus housing

Data Archive Management

• Produce Proof of Residency documentation for students and third-parties
• Support OADS in the dissemination of multiple Census Surveys each month
• Assist Investigators with back-ground check information
• Maintain all digital housing records and generate reports to share with campus stakeholders

Supervision

Directly supervise one full-time Coordinator for Transitions and two graduate assistants; and indirectly supervise two other coordinators in Director’s absence and ten student staff.

Financial Management

Manage the charging and refunding of the housing deposit, participate in a semesterly housing charging audit against corresponding Banner accounts, and ensure daily reconciliation of housing charges due to withdrawals and room changes are accurate.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Reporting directly to the Director of Housing Operations, this Assistant Director for Academic Year Assignments indirectly supervises approximately 5-10 student employees who provide customer service to walk-in guests and answer incoming telephone calls. While those students report directly to the Coordinator for Transitions, the Assistant Director monitors their responses to inquiries regarding on-campus housing, assigns daily tasks to the student staff, and supervises their performance of those tasks.

The Assistant Director follows established protocol to ensure achieve Residential Services’ high occupancy and customer satisfaction goals, while maintaining the highest regard for each student’s unique needs.

They employ their good planning, communication, and interpersonal skills with campus partners and other Georgetown University departments, including the Office of Global Education, Athletics, Student Affairs, Auxiliary Business Services, Registrar’s Office, each school’s Deans, Advancement, School for Continuing Studies, Office of Strategic Communications, & GU Police.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Counsels and advises prospective students, applicants, and family members about opportunities at Marymount University. Develops working knowledge of admissions & financial aid processes, academic programs, and student life.

• Coordinates with academic programs and support units for participation in on-campus events and tours. Builds strong relationships with campus partners to aid in recruitment efforts and yield opportunities ensuring successful partnerships and buy-in for admissions events

• Accountable for generating reports, informing and meeting goals within their territory, and providing input to admissions and student affairs leadership to inform the bigger enrollment picture.

•  In-person, phone, email, & chat are all required ways in which Marymount communicates with prospective students. Staff will employ strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Conducts presentations across multiple communication channels, demonstrating effective use of a variety of technologies. Participates in call nights as scheduled throughout the recruiting cycle.

• Ability to travel overnight and work evenings & weekends, with the understanding that time off may not be permissible during the height of the recruitment season.

•  Responsible for representing the entire university to external constituents. As such, it is critical that Admissions Counselors have a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures, a professional presence, and that they give accurate information while abiding by the university and higher education best practices.

About the Opportunity

The Center for Health Policy and Law (CHPL) is seeking a Program Director to oversee projects and deliverables within the Salus Populi (SP) portfolio. 

The Program Director will have overall responsibility for the daily functioning of the SP program and work with the SP Leadership team on all aspects of program development and implementation. They will be responsible for creating and implementing curriculum, organizing events, supervising program staff, and fostering collaboration partnerships.  The Program Director will manage the budget and support the development of grant proposals, facilitate meetings, organize events, present at conferences, work with external partners, supervise staff, supervise law students and be adept at project management. The Program Director will serve the mission of SP by helping to train judges, lawyers and other court personnel on the SDOH. We are looking for an attorney who wants to be part of a team that has a passion for health equity, public health policy and law. 

This position is grant-funded for 24 months through December 31, 2026 with the possibility of extension based on funding and at the discretion of CHPL.

Housed in the School of Law and firmly rooted in Northeastern University’s nine academic colleges and international network of campuses, the Center brings together Northeastern faculty, students, and experts across disciplines to share knowledge; conduct and disseminate research; and influence the formulation and implementation of health policy and law.

About the Salus Populi:

Salus Populi: Educating the Judiciary about the Social Determinants of Health (SP) is a project in collaboration with the Center for Health Policy and Law (CHPL) at Northeastern University School of Law and the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research (Institute) at Northeastern University that seeks to provide guidance and training to judges and lawyers on the impact of the law on the social determinants of health (SDOH). Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), CHPL has received a two year grant to train judges about the SDOH, with the goal of moving judges to render decisions that support health equity. The program will also train lawyers and other court personnels.  The SP judicial education program is a tuition-free, interactive, and discussion-oriented course that will provide judges with the tools they need to recognize how the SDOH impact the issues that come before courts and to read and evaluate public health research relating to the SDOH.

Since its start, SP has trained over 585 attendees from all over the country. The team consists of faculty and staff from both CHPL and the Institute.

• Develop and implement program plan to advance the goals of current programs and initiatives
• Shape and execute the strategic direction of current goals and initiatives, including fundraising efforts, with an emphasis on strategic partnerships and collaborations.
• Serve as a mentor and supervisor for staff, student interns and research assistants, fostering their growth and development within the organization

2) Organizational Management:

• Serve as a member of the Salus Populi leadership team
• Supervise the legal research and drafting activities and deliverables for the project in collaboration with the project’s Principal Investigator
• Draft and edit curricula and program materials;
• Research and draft academic papers and other deliverables;
• Draft other communications related to the project;
• Supervise and guide legal and undergraduate research assistants;
• Serve as a course instructor for most of the Salus Populi judicial and legal education program sessions.

3) Grant Management:

• Manage grant-funded projects, including by managing budget and  supervising and training staff, to ensure that deliverables, including trainings, curriculum development and publications are completed in a timely and successful manner.
• Provide insights and expertise to ensure projects fit funding criteria, are feasible within budgetary constraints, and align with program objectives.
• Help identify and secure future grant opportunities, including  drafting funding proposals
• Monitor expenses against the budget throughout the project timeline
• In collaboration with CHPL’s managing director, identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration and/or funding.
• Liaise with NUSL Finance and NURes for grant management and reporting

4) Partnership Management: 

• Oversee partners and collaborators, acting as the primary point of contact and liaison with SP.
• Strategically shape and direct content creation for the SP website and maintain a presence across social media platforms.
• Oversight of relevant listservs,  ensuring communications and outreach for SP.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• JD or equivalent degree and at least 5 years of relevant work experience (e.g. higher education, nonprofit, legal practice, government), including at least 5 years working in the legal field.
• Extensive knowledge of public health law and health policy.
• Demonstrated commitment to health equity and diversity and inclusion and a proven ability to work with a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty.
• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to successfully plan, execute, and monitor complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deliverables.
• At least 1-2 years of grant writing and administration experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, this includes the ability to facilitate meetings, conduct presentations and draft reports and legal arguments.
• A demonstrated ability to analyze and advocate for health policy changes based on research findings and legal analysis.

Responsibilities:

1. GSCDO leadership:

• Engage in team leadership to problem-solve GSCDO’s strategy, including identifying and introducing strategic initiatives for GSCDO that will lift the level of career services for all GS participants.
• Lead the operationalisation of new strategic initiatives for GSCDO, including and not limited to leading team to launch these initiatives.

• Work closely with internal NTU/NBS stakeholders such as Associate Deans, Academic Directors, Program and Management Office, NTU Career Office, Alumni Affairs Offices, Development Offices to source for full-time jobs and internship placements from existing and new industry contacts.
• Maintain a deep understanding of market factors relative to employer organisations in China.
• Cultivate deep relationship with China-based alumni, particularly in key hiring sectors.

3. Partner for all China roles:

• Be the go-to partner for all GSCDO Career Leads in areas of understanding China employers and employment trends.
• Support NBS endeavors in China e.g., sourcing for industry projects and managing industry visits (e.g. SIFT).

4. Provide student counselling for all China roles:

• Develop calendar of recruitment activities to ensure pipeline of China roles are availed to all post-graduate students.
• Place students in their desired roles (full-time jobs and internships).
• Monitor student’s performance and growth during internships and prepare to intervene with win-win solutions for both student and industry partner.
• All other tasks assigned to role.

Requirements:

• Degree from a top-tier global business school is required.
• Good knowledge of practices and hiring mandates of companies across different sectors in China.
• At least 10 year’s work experience, possessing strong and deep networks with companies in China.

The Centre for Lifelong Learning and Individualised Cognition (CLIC) invites applications for the position of Principal Research Scientist.

Key Responsibilities:

• To support CLIC Directors Prof Zoe Kourtzi (University of Cambridge) and Prof Annabel Chen (Nanyang Technological University) in providing leadership and day-to-day management of all CLIC research activities

• To supervise and coordinate all CLIC programme staff (senior research fellow, research fellows, research associates, assistants and administrative staff) employed in Singapore

• To facilitate co-ordination and communication between PIs from the University of Cambridge (UK) and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)

• To facilitate efficient work integration across the different individual work packages

• To contribute scientific leadership on the CLIC programme of research, with a particular focus on the neuroscience of learning across the lifespan. Subject to the approval of the funder, it is anticipated that the post holder would be part of the principal investigator team for CLIC.

• To provide oversight of required academic inputs to funder reporting and grant terms compliance processes to ensure high-quality, programmatically synergetic communications with funder and funder advisory committees

Job Requirements:

• PhD in the relevant specialist subject area

• Expertise in the science of learning, with a particular focus on cognitive neuroscience methods and mechanisms of learning in young people

• Experience of data management and analysis, with great attention to detail and excellent record keeping

• Experience of experimental design, data quality control, data processing, statistical analysis, and integration and visualization of data from multiple platforms

• Strong abilities in strategic thinking and planning; the ability to guide and harmonise several programmes of work and oversee and coordinate multiple teams and management arrangements

• Ability to work both in a team and pro-actively, using own initiative to prioritise and manage own workload, to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines and maintain confidentiality

• Role holder must have excellent IT skills and data analysis experience
