Work base: Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay
If you are a strong leader, an excellent communicator and consider yourself to be professionally curious then the role of the Section Manager is for you.
You will lead the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), which is the first point of contact for all potential safeguarding concerns in relation to children, young people and adults within Conwy. It is a multi-agency service that works together sharing information, knowledge and experience to early identify safeguarding concerns and provide a robust decision making forum.
You will lead the team of Managers, Social Workers, Duty Officers and Intervention Workers to deliver an effective and responsive service.
You will be required to comply with the statutory safeguarding responsibilities and to drive forward service improvements and developments to ensure the team are ever evolving and motivated to stay ahead of any emerging trends and implement an early response.
You will be supported by a Service Manager with regular formal and informal supervision. You will have access to a dedicated HR and workforce team. Conwy have excellent training opportunities, which will enable you to progress your career aspirations.
You will have the opportunity of working flexibly from both home and the state of the art ‘Coed Pella’ office in Colwyn Bay, which allows you to be in contact with partner departments including Youth Justice, Education, Housing and many others. In order to be eligible to apply you must have the Social Work degree or an equivalent social work qualification, CQSW or DipSW with a minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience with a good knowledge of relevant legislation.
Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to obtain a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
