About the Role Base Location: Perth Training Centre
Salary: £44,195 - £50,611 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

We have a fantastic opportunity available in our Learning & Talent team for an experienced Overhead Lines Trainer & Assessor, who can demonstrate both strong technical experience and a passion for developing people. This role supports the development of teams within our Distribution business. This is also a perfect development opportunity for someone with a strong technical background gained from UK distribution networks, as we'll provide all the support and development you'll need to become a Trainer/Assessor. In this role you'll be responsible for:
- Facilitating training and conducting assessments to ensure our people have the technical knowledge and skills to support safe and effective operations.
- Assisting with the development of training content, to ensure it is aligned to current rules, procedures and best working practices.
- Planning the delivery of training plans and content across the UK that meets the needs of our customers.
- Providing advice and guidance as a technical expert on the implementation of operational procedures, engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Delivering training to support both new employees, as well as upskilling and assuring the competence of existing employees and contract partners, as part of a continual review cycle for authorisations.
What do I need? To be successful in this role, you'll have excellent communication skills and a flair for developing people. You must have a technical background with suitable experience working on UK distribution networks. Ideally, you'll have experience in coaching others, teaching and assessing, however someone who holds the relevant technical and communication skills and demonstrates the potential to become a successful trainer will be considered for a development opportunity. To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Recently held distribution network authorisations to undertake live LV working and switching operations on LV distribution networks.
- Strong operational background, with experience on Overhead Line LV and HV networks.
- You will be an excellent communicator and be able to facilitate engaging and inclusive learning environments for a diverse workforce.
- Additional authorisations for LV & HV Generator Connections and experience/authorised with Overhead Lines are desirable but not essential.
- A recognised safety qualification such as NEBOSH/IOSH or a sound understanding of UK Safety Regulations (ESQCR, Electricity at Work and Environmental) would be beneficial but not essential.
The standard work pattern for this role is 37 hours per week across 4 days (Monday to Thursday), however alternative work patterns can be considered.
