Join us a Lead Digital Portfolio Manager, overseeing multiple projects so that your portfolio delivers optimal outcomes, contributes to the department's aims, and deliver against our Digital Strategy.
We'll look to you to set standards for delivery, assurance and financial planning processes, identifying KPIs and OKRs to determine if we're delivering on target and to budget.

Delivery. Work. Projects.
As a Lead Digital Portfolio you will oversee a portfolio of digital initiatives.
You will lead a team of portfolio managers, and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the delivery of value-driven digital solutions.
You'll influence the Senior Leadership Team, including the Director and Deputy Directors, and provide updates on portfolio progress, manage risks, and ensure governance across all projects.
You'll be the escalation point for application issues, collaborating with other business and technical teams to assist with the development of ongoing reliability, performance, and support.
You'll track KPIs, and addressing any strategic challenges and underperformance.
If we need organisational change, particularly in team restructuring, onboarding of new hires, and adapting to evolving portfolio requirements, you'll step up.
You'll be working alongside a Business Manager to ensure effective management of resources, including budget and staffing.
You will need the skills to:
- Lead large-scale digital portfolios within a complex organisation.
- Operate at a senior level including drafting Board level papers, reporting and influencing up to Senior Executive level.
- Develop and implement organisational governance, financial and assurance frameworks including taking accountability for and delivering critical improvement activity to strengthen and comply with existing governance and assurance controls.
- identify and respond to complex issues, using excellent stakeholder managements skills and appropriate methods to unblock and resolve.
- Analyse and interpret multiple data sets to create board level reports and positively influence board level stakeholders, demonstrating highly developed interpersonal and strong communications and presentation skills to tell a compelling story.
- Build successful relationships across organisational boundaries with diverse senior stakeholders using strong leadership and communication skills to build, manage and influence key strategic relationships.
You should also have a recognised Portfolio or Project Management qualification such as:
- Management of Portfolios (Foundation & Practitioner)
- Prince2
- Portfolio Management Institute

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. whichever is most convenient for you.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £89,995
Pension: You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth up to £20,000
