Typical day as Technical Quality Manager

• Driving technical design and quality of our schemes through reviewing documentation and drawings as sufficiently describing the works and meeting Building Safety requirements, providing technical sign off where required.
• Managing inspections and reporting at key build stages (including up to handover and at the end of the defect liability period), referring to plans, photographing works, taking measurements and checking materials.
• Attending pre-construction site meetings and other technical project meetings to provide technical and quality input.
• Ensuring homes are delivered on time and programme risks managed, working closely with project teams, carrying out regular reviews on contractors’ progress of works against programmes and providing advice on handover dates and program risks.
• Regular monitoring and recording of inspections by Building Control and NHBC/Warranty, tracking issues raised and ensuring they are rectified. Supporting the teams to hold contractors to account for quality, workmanship and safety on our construction sites at all times.

You have

• Experience of the full development process with a residential developer, contractor or consultant in the construction or housebuilding industry. You’ll have a good technical knowledge in identifying defects, snags and general construction quality in new homes.
• An up-to-date knowledge of regulations, codes and standards, including materials, trades, methods and legal requirements.
• Hold a relevant degree (or equivalent professional experience) alongside a professional accreditation such as RICS, CIOB, ICWCI, RIBA or equivalent or be working towards this.
• As safety is of paramount importance, a detailed understanding of Health & Safety regulations, with experience of ensuring sites and assets remain safe. You’ll hold, or be prepared to work toward, a site safety accreditation such as CSCS or equivalent.
• You’ll have a good eye for detail, be a great influencer, with a good understanding of the external environment and our place within it.

Ensure that fit for purpose systems, policies and procedures are in place for the provision of Bank and agency staff in all areas of the Trust, with ongoing reviews. Develop and nurture positive relationships with managed services, third party suppliers, procurement, other agencies and stakeholders to bring rigour and appropriate scrutiny to the management of temporary staff. Oversee and support the management of the contract with the Trusts outsourced partner/s for the management of temporary staffing, both medical and non-medical; ensuring identified savings are delivered in contracted timescales, while ensuring the Trust is responsive to the managed service and other outsourced partners requirements. Through the managed service provider and outsourced partners, monitor the performance of agencies to ensure quality and governance standards are met in relation to recruitment practices, professional registration, appraisal, statutory and mandatory training, professional development and performance management of their workers. Support the retendering process to procure bank and agency services in conjunction with the Procurement Department. To lead the Trusts operational work to reduce agency usage and spend across all services to meet the Trusts annual agency spend objectives including driving migration of workers from agency to bank and supporting bank workers to substantive contracts, ensuring optimal use of temporary staff, reducing expenditure and ensuring value for money. To work across the system, including the ICB, to ensure that the Trust leads and participates actively in this work to achieve efficiencies and share best practice; Attend monthly and quarterly contract meetings with the Trusts managed service provider and outsourced partners to review and create ongoing actions to ensure staff staffing and quality is maintained, while reducing premium spend through bank and agency work. Working as an integral member of LGTs Estate Redevelopment Team, you will play a critical part in the delivery of a number of capital projects across our hospital and community sites, including the planning and delivery of a programme of improvements to our existing Urgent Emergency Care Department at University Hospital, Lewisham. You will also be involved on the development and delivery of long-term redevelopment and regeneration plans for the Trusts two hospital sites. As a Senior Project Manager, you will report directly into and working closely with a Redevelopment Project Director. You will be involved in all aspects of a variety of design stage and construction projects with values ranging from £100,000 up to Several Million Pounds, from RIBA Stage 0 through to Stage 7. You will lead internal project teams as well as being responsible for acting as client to external consultants and contractors. - Sizewell C Limited will be moving offices from 90 Whitfield Street to 25 Copthall Avenue. 25 Copthall Avenue is a modern building just a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Sizewell C will occupy the whole of the 4th floor. We are targeting a move in February 2025.
This role will be contractually based at 25 Copthall Avenue. However, depending on the date of the move there may be a period that you will be required to work temporarily from our existing office at 90 Whitfield Street.

The Role

You’ll lead the day-to-day management of Commercial Managers and Assistants.
