What we are looking for
-We are looking for an experienced and proactive person to join our team at International Removals to manage, co-ordinate and drive our strategic and operational work in relation to Staff Wellbeing.
We are ideally looking for an individual with both staff supervision experience in an operational setting and experience working with stakeholders and community partners to secure the best possible care for our staff. International Removals is a unique business in that staff are not in one ‘work area' for any extended period so systems and structures need to fit an operational model where staff work away from the office and work unpredictable hours. The work also offers challenges in relation to the client group that the staff work with as working within Immigration Services ensures that staff are interacting with individuals and families at a difficult and emotional time of their lives. There are significant barriers with regards to language and cultural differences and the individuals in our care will often have negative and complex experiences prior to our interaction. As such staff can witness difficult, aggressive, violent, or traumatic behaviour and be involved in restraint or self-harming behaviour, all of which can affect wellbeing for the staff member.
The work of International Removals is currently in a state of expansion due to impact and implications of the Illegal Migration Act. As such we are in the process of ramping up our business and operational models to be fit for purpose. The Staff Wellbeing Team is a new initiative that is being developed to meet the need of the rapidly expanding staff group. So, the successful candidate needs to be able to be part of a steering group that builds this function and team, identifies the required staff wellbeing provision, liaise with training providers and then ultimately co-ordinate the work of a team to meet the needs of a large staff group. The Co-ordinator will report into the Service Delivery Manager overseeing this function and work alongside identified managers and officers to ensure a staff led service that works towards reducing the impact of trauma and adverse experiences of staff through appropriate, timely and empathic support.
The successful candidate will cover their duties over a 5 day week period Monday to Friday with occasional work being required out of those hours dependent on the needs of the staff group.
