Responsibilities of our Shop Manager:


To lead, manage, coach and develop a shop team of employees and volunteers to be the best they can be, maximising shop performance through the safe day-to-day operational management of shop activity
To take ownership for the delivery of shop income, expenditure and operating profit budgets and other key measures of performance and activity as defined in the Retail Performance framework
To support the work of Cats Protection, acting as brand ambassador, being a role model for the values and behaviours of the Charity, taking responsibility for shop operations and related people management.


About the retail team:


Our retail operation consists of over 80 charity shops
Each of our shops has its own charm and personality due to our dedicated volunteers and colleagues. From vintage jewellery and jigsaws to harps and handbags, whether our customers are looking for that 'must have' item or simply a 'missing piece'.

Demonstrable learning and experience from working in a relevant retail environment
Previous experience of line managing a team and building a culture to achieve a collective goal

What you'll be doing

As a Logistics Shift Manager, you'll look after the people and processes to make sure that everything, and everyone, works perfectly.

You'll take care of everything from costs, resources and budgets to setting higher standards and tackling any issues that crop up. Getting out there among your team, you'll also inspire from the shop floor to keep everyone motivated, happy and equipped to deliver.

What you need to show us

To be successful as a Logistics Shift manager, you'll ideally have warehouse and distribution experience and a background in driving and managing change.

As Assistant Manager, you'll be supporting the General Manager to maintain that brilliance across the team,delivering 14 great shifts to make sure that every customer leaves happy. What you'll bring:

You are probably an existing Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or Supervisor with a background in restaurants, bars, caf or coffee shops.
You will have experience of working in a bar environment with serving freshly made food and drinks preparation.
A natural talent and passion for hospitality and an amazing people manager with a flair for talent spotting.
Extremely driven and relentless at overcoming challenges or obstacles.
Good literacy skills alongside excellent attention to detail to support reporting on KPIs.
Good communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
Self-motivator working at pace with limited supervision whilst adhering to pressure and timescales.
Strong knowledge of best practice in the following areas: sales building, sales and labour forecasts, paperwork and reporting, recruitment and HR and NPS.
