As our Portfolio and Rationalisation Manager you will lead and coordinate Eastlight’s portfolio rationalisation strategy, ensuring that all activities align with Eastlight's mission and deliver tangible benefits for our communities. This role involves identify portfolio acquisition and disposal opportunities and then end-to-end management of the process - from initial financial modelling through to collaboratively ensuring delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-departmentally and with external consultants to meet programme objectives, maintain project timelines, and secure Eastlight’s position as a responsible and effective asset manager.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Lead Portfolio Rationalisation: Oversee and coordinate portfolio rationalisation initiatives to ensure alignment with Eastlight’s strategic objectives and deliver measurable value to our residents.
Manage Portfolio Acquisitions and Disposals: Identify, develop, and execute acquisition and disposal projects. This includes conducting detailed financial modelling, project analysis, stakeholder consultation, and managing each project to completion.
Project Team Leadership: Coordinate and lead internal project teams to drive portfolio rationalisation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and programme objectives.
Internal and External Approvals: Secure necessary approvals for projects at every level, including internal Board-level and external regulatory approvals, such as from Homes England and relevant statutory authorities.
Cross-Departmental Coordination: Utilise matrix management skills to coordinate activities across departments, ensuring cohesive delivery of programme objectives and adherence to timelines.
External Consultancy Management: Appoint and manage specialist consultants as required to support the rationalisation projects and enhance Eastlight’s capacity to deliver top-quality outcomes.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- Proven experience in asset portfolio management, rationalisation, or similar roles.
- Demonstrated experience in complex financial modelling, project analysis, and end-to-end project management.
- Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory frameworks affecting housing and asset portfolios.
- Experience in securing internal and external approvals, particularly at a Board level.
- Proficiency in cross-departmental collaboration and matrix management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- RICS (MRICS) qualification or with relevant, proven equivalent experience.
- Experience managing consultancy relationships including dealing with complex contract negotiation, management, and project management experience for large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of housing sector challenges and opportunities, particularly in the non-profit or social housing context.
- Detailed understanding of affordable housing funding streams, Homes England Capital Funding Guide requirements and statutory authority approval processes.
