Your Time at Work

As a line leader, you are responsible for ensuring the line is equipped and set up correctly to the recipe. You need to ensure you have the correct labour in place to run the line and that the line runs to optimum efficiency.

You will need to be an excellent people person. Demonstrating ethical and compassionate behaviors towards others.

Our Perfect Worker

Our perfect worker will have previous experience working as a Line Leader in food manufacturing is desirable. However if you have other food manufacturing skilled experience, whether that be in hygiene or cookers, we would be very interested to hear from you.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Factory Technical Manager to join Boston Meals. The site employs over 700 people and specialises in making chilled Italian ready meals and pasta salads products for a dedicated customer.

The main focus of the role is to drive the delivery of Technical Standards across the sites’ Operations.

The role will ensure that the correct standards are understood by all relevant persons and effectively challenged, by way of Audit. This will underpin the sites Food Safety, Product Quality and Integrity – and hence demonstrate our leading standards.

Accountabilities

- Ensure there is clarity of Technical Standards – which are effectively Communicated, Understood and Applied.
- Ensure that the Business develops an ‘Audit Ready’ Culture – to consistently deliver successful audit outcomes.
- Ensure relevant standards, HACCP based as appropriate, are communicated, understood and applied to meet Food Safety, Quality and Legality, and customer specified requirements. The standards must be documented and maintained within a recognised system.
- Provides leadership and ownership for the implementation of the quality management systems associated with the production of food to the agreed safety, legal and quality standards.
- Support the business with management of technical audits, hosting audits as appropriate. Drives a culture of “fit to manufacture every day” readiness through the daily operational teams. Manages response & close out of non-conformance reports from audits as required.

About you

A calm logical thinker – an evidence based decision maker, who when challenged can demonstrate rationale of thought.

Full time permanent position for a Store Manager based in Boston. This would be working 40 hours per week on a rota basis covering Monday to Saturday. Holiday entitlement 28 days including Bank Holiday, however there is a requirement to work Good Friday.

Duties will include

Manage, motivate, train and develop staff in accordance HR Policies and Procedures and relevant employment legislation. (8 staff)
Manage and implement promotional strategies/activities.
Manage cash and payment systems in accordance with Company procedures.
Plan and implement store merchandising and layout, taking customer traffic flow into consideration, to present the right image and appearance in order to maximise sales, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Liaise with external agencies and authorities as necessary (HR & Training, Suppliers, Fire Service, Police, Local Council, HSE etc.)
Manage, maintain and report on Stock Levels of merchandise and non–merchandise stock.
Ensure all equipment, fixtures and fittings of the store are maintained and in good condition.
Manage Health, Safety, Security and Emergency systems within the store ensuring staff and customer awareness and in accordance with Company policy and relevant legislation.
Continuously develop and maintain product knowledge.
Continuously develop and maintain awareness of competitor activity and pricing strategy.
Plan staff rotas and ensure staffing levels are adequate and within budgeted hours.
Any other duties as directed by the Retail Development Manager.
Previous Management or Supervisory experience within retail is essential for this position. Other requirements include; strong leadership and communication skills, experience in computerised stock ordering, merchandising, cash balancing etc, excellent customer service skills, good numeracy and literacy skills as well as being computer literate.

About you
