Reporting to the Technical Support Manager (Consignment & Flasking), the role of Senior Technical Support Officer (STSO) (Consignment & Flasking) is pan NNL role and is required to ensure that compliance with all aspects of Dangerous Goods (DG) transport is maintained.

The STSO is involved in most areas of NNL programmes of work, aiding our customers (EDF, MOD, Sellafield Limited etc) to move their materials safely and compliantly into and out of our Laboratories.

While based at our Sellafield location, the role holder will need flexibility to cover all NNL locations, eg Preston and Workington where the movement of DG is required.

The STSO will deputise for the Technical Support Manager (Consignment & Flasking), in their absence.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities for Senior Technical Support Officer (Consignment and Flasking):

• The provision of Subject Matter Expert advice to Customers and NNL employees via optioneering studies and package handling strategies on the use of new and existing transport packages within NNL facilities.
• Appointed in compliance roles including, but not exclusively: Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA), Dangerous Goods Dispatch Officer (DGDO), Radioactive Materials Coordinator (RMC).
• Liaising with the Customers, Site Licensee and Regulators to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Communicating with: ONR, DfT and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Site Licence Holder Consignment Teams, Package Design Authorities.
• Ensuring that NNL transport packages, movement of all classes of Dangerous Goods (DG), and Management System documentation remain compliant with National and International regulations and Site Licensee requirements.
• Acting as intelligent customer for procured services relating to DG transport activities and equipment.
• Monitoring changes in best practice and advising on improvements required in the management of DG transport activities.
• Reviewing DG transport related training provided by host sites and provide training to NNL staff involved in DG transport operations (including operators and maintainers) on the compliance requirements and management arrangements for DG transport.
• Managing a small team as and when required.

Senior Care Assistant (Nights) based at Amathea, Workington

Available Hours:

The Remote Engineering Design & Robotics Team supplies bespoke remote handling equipment, tooling, inspection systems and robotic systems and tooling for all aspects of remote operations plant intervention work in the nuclear industry. We cover all aspects of projects including consultancy, optioneering studies, concept design, detail design, manufacture, test, commissioning, and on-site operations.

Senior Mechanical Engineers will work in the supply of remotely deployed equipment for use in active plant, underwater operations, radioactive waste size reduction and processing and decommissioning. In addition, Senor Mechanical Engineers will also lead the design, build and operation of inactive test rigs to prove new technology, equipment and processes prior to deployment in active nuclear plant.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities for Senior Mechanical Engineer:

• Lead the production of 3D models and 2D detailed design drawings to the appropriate drawing standards using state of the art 3D CAD workstations. Approve detailed designs, calculations and technical documentation.
• Lead the build, installation, commissioning and operational support of plant based equipment. Lead operation and trial of test rig equipment and processes to client specifications, collating trials results, analysing data and the generation of technical reports. Lead on the development of prototype equipment and processes through to supply of end products.
• Approve product safety related documentation, e.g. risk assessments, method statements, operation & maintenance manuals. Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures e.g. safety, quality, risk, security etc. applicable to the role, including those required for UKCA marking.
• Provide mechanical engineering consultancy and support for remotely operable systems and equipment for the nuclear industry. Provide technical advice and guidance on issues appropriate to their working area.

Your new company
Due to their rapid growth, A Wilderness Way are looking for multiple Senior Residential Support Workers to join their ever expanding team of expert care providers. Your new role
You will lead a single child home, accompanied by a Residential Support Worker, providing support to children who may display challenging and disruptive behaviours, emotional and social difficulties. Under the leadership of the Assistant Manager, you will ensure that the care objectives, as defined by the Registered Manager, are delivered by you and the RSW's that report into you and your SRSW peer group.
Children are usually with A Wilderness Way for a number of months, you will be part of a child's whole journey and see the direct impact of a wrap-around care team.
You will actively encourage each child to engage with the ethos of A Wilderness Way, but by putting in mechanisms and plans that support the use of the outdoors, to inspire and motivate them. Young people at A Wilderness Way are encouraged to take an active part in decision-making and be involved as much as possible to the design and delivery of the service they receive.

You will be a positive role model to young people and maintain high professional standards at all times, participate in achieving high standards of cleanliness, laundry and all appropriate household duties, as well as ensuring record keeping and administration responsibilities are met.

At A Wilderness Way, Residential Support Workers work on a 2 on-4 off shift basis. You will start your first shift at 9am with a handover from the previous team, you will then accompany the child to activities and appointments as necessary throughout the day, providing them with a stable and structured routine. You will then stay in the residence overnight and continue to care for the child the following day, followed by a further sleep over. Your shift will finish after your second sleepover at around 9:30am and you will handover to the next team. You will then be off work for the following 4 days. All sleepovers are paid at £30 per night in addition to your annual salary.

What you'll need to succeed

• A minimum of 12 months social care experience as a Support Worker with either Adults or Children.
• Previous experience in a

• Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in the Children's and Young People's Workforce.
• Willingness to complete compliance procedures.
• Full UK manual driving licence holder with access to your own vehicle.

Due to their rapid growth, A Wilderness Way are looking for multiple Senior Residential Support Workers to join their ever expanding team of expert care providers. Your new role
You will lead a single child home, accompanied by a Residential Support Worker, providing support to children who may display challenging and disruptive behaviours, emotional and social difficulties. Under the leadership of the Assistant Manager, you will ensure that the care objectives, as defined by the Registered Manager, are delivered by you and the RSW's that report into you and your SRSW peer group. Children are usually with A Wilderness Way for a number of months, you will be part of a child's whole journey and see the direct impact of a wrap-around care team.
You will actively encourage each child to engage with the ethos of A Wilderness Way, but by putting in mechanisms and plans that support the use of the outdoors, to inspire and motivate them. Young people at A Wilderness Way are encouraged to take an active part in decision-making and be involved as much as possible to the design and delivery of the service they receive.

You will be a positive role model to young people and maintain high professional standards at all times, participate in achieving high standards of cleanliness, laundry and all appropriate household duties, as well as ensuring record keeping and administration responsibilities are met.

At A Wilderness Way, Residential Support Workers work on a 2 on-4 off shift basis. You will start your first shift at 9am with a handover from the previous team, you will then accompany the child to activities and appointments as necessary throughout the day, providing them with a stable and structured routine. You will then stay in the residence overnight and continue to care for the child the following day, followed by a further sleep over. Your shift will finish after your second sleepover at around 9:30am and you will handover to the next team. You will then be off work for the following 4 days. All sleepovers are paid at £30 per night in addition to your annual salary.

What you'll need to succeed

• A minimum of 12 months social care experience as a Support Worker with either Adults or Children.
• Previous experience in a
• Passion for helping children.
• Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in the Children's and Young People's Workforce.
• Willingness to complete compliance procedures.
• Full UK manual driving licence holder with access to your own vehicle.
• Experience in dealing with children who present with emotional or behavioural difficulties (desirable).

The NNL Engineering Construction capability are looking for an experienced Senior Construction Coordinator to standardised construction and installation activities in our Workington laboratory.

The successful candidate will be the point of contact for all construction projects undertaken in the facility and may also be required to support construction projects on the Sellafield Nuclear site.

The projects will be varied and will range from facility upgrades, the installation of new research and development test rigs to the modification of existing rigs and services to support our future workload.

The primary role of the Senior Construction Coordinator is to support the Construction Manager in the execution of the construction phase of the projects. Taking responsibility for ensuring all contractors employed on our projects execute works in a safe and timely manner and adhere to all regulatory, management and contractual arrangements. You will deputise as the NNL Principal Contractor and NNL Construction Manager for the facility when required.

The role also includes the coordination and management of all temporary works, the production of construction strategies, construction phase plans and the estimating and scheduling of site works. The inspection and acceptance of the contractors completed works to the required engineering and construction design specifications, through to the production of handover documentation.

• The key area of accountability is to coordinate and ensure the safe delivery of all construction activities in Workington Laboratory.

  • To ensure all specified construction and installation standards are met (Surveillance and inspection).

• (Equivalent experience can be offered in lieu if it is deemed appropriate by the NNL Construction Manager) HNC / ONC or equivalent in an engineering, electrical or construction discipline. Preferably from a trade background.
• Client-side experience working on nuclear construction/commissioning projects in a management/supervisory position, with experience in multi discipline contractor management and a detailed understanding of the CDM 2015 regulations.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a self-starter, able to take responsibility and work with minimum supervision, at times under pressure with excellent organisational skills; be able to multitask and re-prioritise to meet changing needs and project deadlines in a team environment.
