The candidate will primarily be focussed on estimating for projects associated with Multi-Utility works covering Power, Gas, Water and Telecoms projects, for end clients such as HS2 and National Highways.

About the Role

We are excited to be able to advertise this role for a senior academic in health psychology with considerable experience in higher education. You will contribute to the academic leadership and delivery of our MSc Health Psychology programmes and to the research profile of the School of Psychology, including applied health psychology research.

As we grow our health psychology provision, this role will include oversight, leadership and development of our campus and online programmes, working with the Head of Discipline, senior academics and the wider teaching team to ensure continuation of excellent student experience and outcomes.

The role will include leading and supporting our marketing events (e.g., open days) which occasionally take place into evenings and at weekends.

The School of Psychology has an active research agenda, and you will be expected to engage with and support financially sustainable research and/or other appropriate academic activity.

There will be opportunity for working from home as agreed with the Head of Discipline. We do support hybrid working as business needs permit. There is currently no requirement for line management in this role. We are advertising this as a full-time position but would be happy to consider candidates who would prefer part time.

About You

To be successful in this role you should have experience of curriculum development and design, and significant teaching experience in health psychology. You should already hold FHEA and may hold SFHEA (or be willing to work towards this). You should have a track record of high quality and impactful research and be able to demonstrate engagement with industry in the development of research. You should also be able to demonstrate a track record in securing external funding. Excellence in communication, team and collaborative working are essential, both internally and externally.

Being a HCPC registered (or eligible) Practitioner Psychologist (health domain) is desirable for this role but not essential.

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint to a Senior Clinical Fellow in ENT Surgery within University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, for 6 months from February to August 2025.

The appointee will be actively involved in the running of the ENT unit including participating in ward rounds, theatre lists, day case lists and outpatient clinics, as well as providing support for the Consultants, SAS Doctors and junior medical team.

This post can be tailored according to the experience of the appointee. Possession of MRCS exam or equivalent is essential. Good computer and communication skills are a requirement. Weekly rotas will be flexible depending on the needs of the service.

Your new company

Established in 1999, my client is a customer-focused planning, environment, and design consultancy with extensive experience in adding value to a range of development schemes. They work with various building materials, minerals & waste, commercial and residential clients amongst others.
It's an exciting time currently, they are looking for an experienced Environmental (EIA) Consultant to join their team and support on a range of schemes.

Their other departments offer various environmental services that work closely together to give a comprehensive service to their clients including; Ecology, Environmental Permitting and Landscape Planning.

Your new role

You will play a crucial role in managing and delivering environmental assessments for a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, including minerals & waste, residential, commercial and industrial developments, with most being the former. These developments are particularly interesting and can range in length.
Some examples are quarry extensions, auxiliary developments, processing plants, cement works, solar power schemes. Otherwise, they can be large-scale residential or commercial sites.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the preparation of EIA screening and scoping reports, Environmental Statements, and supporting documents.
• Provide expert advice on environmental impacts and mitigation measures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing bespoke advice to help them achieve their goals.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and other environmental specialists, to integrate environmental considerations into project designs.
• Ensure all deliverables meet high-quality standards and adhere to rigorous quality management procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

• A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• Membership with a relevant institution
• Extensive experience in environmental consultancy, with a strong understanding of UK environmental and planning legislation.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate inputs from various technical specialists.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting and resource allocation.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in environmental assessment practices.
