KBR is providing Project Management Services encompassing Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phase execution supporting KBR’s client Sonangol’ s multi-billion-dollar grass roots Lobito Refinery Project in Angola Africa.
KBR is looking for a Senior PC & C Hydrotreaters-Reformer-Penex Advisor to manage and audit the EPC Contractor’s Refinery Commissioning Team during phases of pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation, systems mechanical completion, training, and ready for start-up for the Diesel Hydrotreating, Naphtha Hydrotreating, CCR Reforming and Penex Units, to ensure commissioning activities meet requirements to complete the project schedule as designed. This role will audit CSU Contractor Team during operational test performance and will act as client first face managing and auditing HSSE activities, SIMOPS and permit to work related procedures.
The Senior PC & C Hydrotreaters-Reformer-Penex Advisor will support the Engineering Team with commissioning and startup related inputs. This role will be an interface with the client, requiring a deep understanding of the technology combined with excellent communication and leadership skills. The Senior PC & C Site Manager will manage and control PC&CSO activities to achieve desired targets in conformity within established cost, quality, schedules, process performance and loss prevention.
****This position will begin the project at KBR’s downtown Houston Office then the role will mobilize to China then mobilize to Angola***
KBR Home Office Responsibilities:
- Review EPC Contractor’s
- Refinery plant operating philosophy manuals and plant training material based upon engineering designs
- Commissioning Execution Plan, Commissioning Schedule, Unit Inter-relationship sequence and strategies, System Definitions, etc.
- Compliance with engineering procedures, international codes, and standards
- Review and Audit EPC Contractors
- Power and Utilities sequence and strategies to ensure they align with project schedule to meet Ready for Startup milestones
- Preservation procedure
- Participate in P&ID Reviews, 3D Model Reviews, HAZOPS Reviews, SIMOPS reviews, provide lessons learned and best practice contributions to the teams
- Provide commissioning, operations, and maintenance related inputs during design engineering and PHAs
- Review & approval of all Instrument engineering documents created by the contractor for commissioning
Project Site Responsibilities (China & Angola):
- Audit EPC Contractors
- Completions management program to ensure the project is tracked and documented
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities associated with buildings, and units in the refinery operating areas
- Simultaneous Operations SIMOPS work activities
- Plant walkdown activities independently or as part of a team and review punch lists
- Pre-commissioning/commissioning activities
- Preservation procedures and activities
- Completion and certification certificates
Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 15 + years directly related experience with an average experience of 20 + years
- In lieu of formal education 23 + years of experience with an average of 28 + years
- Proven ability writing technical procedures and training materials to multi-discipline groups
- Experience preparing and presenting training materials to multi-disciplined groups
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications e.g., Word, Excel, Access, Microsoft Projects, Visio, Power Point, Revu Bluebeam and Adobe Applications.
