We are currently recruiting a full time Best Interest Assessor/Senior Social Worker to join our Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team based within Adult Social Care. Working in collaboration with the Team Manager and other senior colleagues, the successful candidate will be required to manage the day-to-day delivery of the DoLS Service to Medway residents who are currently in hospital, nursing, or residential care.

You will be required to practice as a Best Interests Assessor to support Medway Council as a Supervisory Body to fulfil its statutory duties in relation to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, as prescribed by the Mental Capacity Act 2005 & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards 2007 Codes of Practice, and in line with relevant guidance. You will also need to maintain an awareness of changes in theories, legislation, and Medway Council policies, local and agency practices, in order to disseminate knowledge and contribute to the delivery of a high standard DoLS service.

The successful candidate will need to develop and maintain a high level of skill, expertise and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and good practice in order to provide support and advice to others in relation to statutory interventions. They will need to work alongside Medway DOLS team colleagues and support other ASC staff with complex cases, providing both co-working and support and advice.

You will be required to undertake the triaging and authorisation of DoLS assessments, applying due professional care and consideration to ensure these are in line with statutory guidance and other relevant protocols. You will also be required to initiate and develop effective partnerships and joint working arrangements with other professionals and agencies, in order to ensure the comprehensive assessment of need, and the planning and delivery of appropriate services.

The successful candidate will need to support the development of knowledge and skills across Medway Adult Social Care in relation to Mental Capacity work and support the development of internal procedures and policies in order to enhance professional knowledge and development to impact upon the overall quality of practice.

You will be required to work autonomously within the role, demonstrating expert and effective practice in complex situations managing higher levels of risk.

This post would be suitable for a highly motivated dietitian who already has knowledge and experience of working with patients with a diverse adult clinical caseload in surgical and critical care settings. The Dietetic team is part of a large and friendly therapy department and works closely with the wider MDT to provide expert nutritional advice for patients within the specialty area. Follow evidence-based practice, being an active MDT member, provide education, acting as a source of knowledge and expertise, developing ICU based nutritional protocols and plans, participate in audit and research related to critical care in order to improve clinical outcomes and develop the role and service.

The post holder is involved in all nutrition and dietetic departmental activities and contributes to the delivery of a Trust wide dietetic service.

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Senior Learning Support Assistant at our Bexley campus. Working collaboratively with teachers and other support specialists, you will strengthen the day to day support and learning experience in and out of the classroom environment for all students receiving ALS within your designated curriculum area.
It is essential that you are passionate about improving learner experience and working closely with young people, their families and external support. You will also be confident in supporting and coordinating colleagues in a variety of transition activities and settings, as well as, ability to deal with complex situations by demonstrating effective communications and tact. Excellent record keeping skills and an attention to detail is essential.
The successful applicant will hold or be willing to work towards Higher level Teaching Assistant (HTLA) or an equivalent qualification. Excellent written and verbal communication skills is important, as are, showing sound organisational skills combined with IT and administrative knowledge.

Senior Microbiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Microbiologist to join a well-established team in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and possess a strong background in microbiology.

Responsibilities:

- Prioritise the work of the team in accordance with business needs.

- Act as the voice and point of contact for microbiological issues within the organisation.

- Ensure all laboratory staff are competent and compliant in related procedures and work in accordance with relevant ISO standards.

- Perform microbiological tests on materials for use in production.

- Conduct microbiological monitoring in production plant and filling areas.

- Sample and test RO process water and seawater deliveries to the site.

- Examine contaminated plates to determine bacterial profiles.

- Maintain accurate records and produce concise reports for KPIs and investigations.

- Play an active role in internal investigations requiring microbiological testing to resolve issues within products or production areas.

- Perform and collate data from environmental testing within the plant.

- Promote safe and compliant working practices within the laboratory and production plant.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment within a regulated industry (e.g., FMCG, Medical Device, Pharmaceuticals) is essential.

- Minimum of A levels in a scientific subject.

- Knowledge and experience of quality tools such as Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, CAPA is desirable but not essential.

My client is a Leading Civil Engineering Company.

They are presently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis, a Senior Engineer / Sub Agent to work on projects in their Southeastern Region which broadly covers Kent and East Sussex.

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering civil engineering projects.
