Senior Workshop SupervisorLambeth Full Time, 40 hours per week, Permanent Between £45,000
- £50,000 per annum
Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Senior Workshop Supervisor to lead a team of vehicle workshop mechanics/fitters, allocating workload and managing the daily workshop operation in line with Serco company policies and DVSA Operator Licence requirements. You will be required to co-ordinate resources and liaise with internal and external key contacts to ensure operational fleet availability is delivered on time and to a quality standard whilst remaining within budget and compliant with all legal and operational legislation.
As part of this you’ll:
- Manage, daily, the vehicle internal maintenance delivery including all vehicle maintenance costs and quality of work undertaken.
- Drive down associated costs through innovation and application of Shared Maintenance Best Practice.
- Personnel management of the internal company vehicle maintenance employees
- Manage any 3rd party supplied vehicle maintenance monitoring the service provided to ensure their compliance with the contract SLA and that they meet our legislative obligations. This management is to include all vehicle maintenance costs and quality of work undertaken.
- Continually review workshop and maintenance efficiency, embracing and promoting Continuous improvement amongst all colleagues implementing those improvements where required.
- To support the National Workshop Manager/ Regional Fleet Manager with the management, development, and implementation of a vehicle procurement and disposal programme reflecting the operational requirements.
- Maintain the fleet inventory and asset register, including current asset locations, through FMS.
- Maintain the workshop tooling inventory and asset register, including current asset locations and their associated Mandatory inspections.
- To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities.
- Influence change through innovations and reviewing the suitability of new products
- Review of monthly ad-hoc invoice charges with National Workshop Manager/ Regional Fleet Manager
- There will be an opportunity to gain the TM CPC qualification
- As part of the role, the individual will be required to attend other locations as directed for business needs.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Hold the National Certificate of Professional Competence in Large Goods Vehicles, or be prepared to undertake relevant training to achieve it.
- Have a thorough understanding of UK and EU road transport legislation, including Goods MoT requirements and Construction and Use regulations.
- Ideally hold a recognised Fleet Engineering Certificate or have the required experience in fleet maintenance management
- Must have experience in the role of a workshop supervisor
