Ensure on-going CPD to maintain competency to prescribe in line with advice for GPhC and national legislation. Be familiar with and work in line with the national legislation governing the scope of practice for non-medical prescribers. Develop a highly specialist knowledge of medicines and treatment to promote and support evidence-based medicine across the Trust. Actively participate in ward rounds, case conferences, Directorate meetings, etc. as appropriate. In liaison with the multi-disciplinary team, work with patients to optimise their care with medicines including: Development of PILs relevant to their medicines Patient education and counselling on their medicines Self-administration of medicines Liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the provision and development of clinical pharmacy services, including complex drug or medication related information, and act on any associated problems which may arise.

This is a non-deanery post, so is not recognised for specialty training, but is intended to fill a vacancy within the NNUH T&O Trainee rota. Consequently, this post is ideal for those who are committed to a career in Trauma & Orthopaedics, and are looking for ST6-8 level experience. With experience inall specialties in Trauma and Orthopaedics, it would suit a candidate looking for this experience specifically for their training requirements. You would be offered similar training opportunities to the specialty trainees, including access to regional teaching and participation in local audit and research opportunities.

The unit admits large numbers of elective and emergency patients per day and thus will offer you a wealth of experience and training in all aspects of Trauma & Orthopaedics, particularly general Orthopaedic trauma, upper limb and paediatric orthopaedics. You will work closely with our senior clinical teams and benefit from their experience and knowledge allowing you to expand your own clinical experience every day, with opportunities to bolster your portfolio for the next round of the national selection process.



In general, the appointed individuals will be expected to work in fracture and elective clinics, trauma and elective operating lists and care for patients on the ward (working effectively with junior members of the team such as Core and Foundation trainees, alongside other HCPs, such as Specialist Nurse Practitioners).

Whilst this post is not recognised for training nor Deanery approved, an Educational Supervisor will be allocated to the fellow.

The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support our innovative team in the next phase of its development. We are looking for Senior Assistant Practitioners – Mental Health (band 5) to join our BANK. To help support the substantive team, with the day-to-day advice and signposting of referrals made to the service and the increased volume of referrals we are receiving.

The Advice, Support and Access service launched 6 months ago and provides a single point of referral for mental health support for the Norfolk and Waveney region for children and young people aged 0 up to 25 years.

The Mental Health access team works within the wider offer of the Just One Number service, a single point of access for the Health Child Service and the Speech and Language Therapy, this provides us with a huge array of expertise and a proven track record of providing excellent and timely interventions, our work is underpinned by Just One Norfolk web site, our evidence based digital support and resources.

We are looking to cover 8am until 6pm (shifts are 8am-4pm and 10am-6pm) Monday to Friday, shifts will be allocated as the demand of service dictates.

This offers the right candidate an opportunity to hone skills in the triage of mental health referrals, explore and link with other statutory and non-statutory services, help to identify advice and guidance for young people and their parents and work with a dedicated dynamic and supportive team. We are looking for individuals with experience of working within Mental Health services and with children/ young people’s mental health.

The post holder will be a registered Practitioner and provide clinical expertise to allow the review, information gathering and triaging of mental health referrals for children, adolescents, and young people (0-25) within Norfolk and Waveney at the Single Point of Access – Just One Number (JON). They will also provide advice, guidance, and support to people with mental health care needs via telephone and other forms of digital technology.

Purpose The purpose of this role is to supervise/line manage a team of PWPs whilst maintaining a reduced clinical caseload, under the guidance of a Hub Lead PWP. You will need a secure knowledge of low intensity treatments to be able to support PWPs with clinical decision making. There is a duty/screening element to the role and at times you will need to discuss complex cases in liaison meetings with external services to ensure the most appropriate level of care for patients. You will be have the opportunity to be involved in the ongoing development of our service through Special Interest Groups, projects, and working groups. Principal Accountabilities Clinical Support PWPs in clinical decision making through Clinical Caseload Management Supervision (CCMS) to identify appropriate treatment options for the presenting symptoms of their patients. If a decision on treatment cannot be decided in CCMS (e.g. due to complexity) discuss this with a Lead PWP or the wider SPWP team to agree the best course of action. Support the Telephone and Referral Centre (TARC) on a weekly rota basis. This includes calling patients that have identified risk concerns at referral to risk assess and follow suitable next steps. Screen referrals and make decisions on suitability for our service following NHSTT protocols. Provide risk supervision / debriefs to PWPs when needed. Liaise with external services to coordinate patient care through multidisciplinary meetings, emails, or phone calls. Work on a rota basis to provide evening duty cover for the clinical team and provide additional cover for sickness/annual leave Maintain a reduced clinical caseload alongside managerial responsibilities. Work closely with external services and colleagues in Step 3 (High intensity), ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place in line with the stepped care approach and no wrong door policy. Complete all requirements relating to data collection and recording within the service. Recording all clinical and nonclinical activity on our patient management system in a timely manner. Complete Patient Experience Questionnaires (PEfaceQs) with patients. Management Provide line management, clinical skills groups, and clinical supervision for PWPs as needed. Support supervisees to participate in ongoing professional and personal development. Identify training needs and opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD). Shortlisting and interviewing Assistant, Trainee, and Qualified PWPs candidates. Deliver training and induction sessions as needed. Confirm PWPs competence to practice by assessing their work through live supervision, auditing notes, and case management supervision. Ensure that line managed staff maintain appropriate IAPTus clinical records in keeping with service operational policy and or that these are in line with best clinical practice. To have an up to date knowledge of the multidisciplinary management of the patients and discharge plan of all patients referred on D2A P1-3 , alongside complex case support . Expectation is to have ability to manage more complex discharge cases with support of Complex Discharge Nurses. To have a good understanding of Discharge to assess, Home first and Discharge Pathways 1-3, as identified in the hospital discharge and community support guidance. To have an understanding of clinical conditions and terminology To independently gather and collate information from the medical notes, patients and multi-disciplinary team colleagues to enable a clear plan for discharge to be followed from point of admission, gathering evidence to support a safe and timely discharge.
