Here at Serco, we have multiple current and historic pension schemes that are administered by various providers. We are New Fair Deal Employer and current schemes include company DB and DC schemes plus Local Government, NHS and PCS public sector schemes.
We are seeking a Service Delivery Pensions SME who will provide dedicated pensions support to the business and its employees in relation to theses schemes. You will ensure Serco is complaint with scheme rules, that contributions are deducted correctly, returns are completed on time and that employees are supported with any queries they may have with a particular focus on the public sector schemes.
As part of this you’ll:
- Liaise with pension providers, internal stakeholders and employees.
- Ensure that scheme providers monthly and annual year end reporting requirements are met with no query.
- Answer internal and external tickets and telephone queries on pension transactions and other issues.
- Liaise with DB scheme providers around life cycle events and calculation of final pay where needed.
- Assist with training of the wider payroll and pension team administrators to enable them to perform their tasks efficiently and in line with the necessary requirements.
- Identify and rectify areas where there are regular recurrent issues.
- Provide support to the wider business, finance, legal, HR and commercial in relation to pensions when bidding, during business change and other events.
- Assist the team with other project work.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Good knowledge or understanding of either LGPS, NHS or Civil Service Schemes.
- Customer focused attitude.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Awareness and/or knowledge of pensions industry.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- IT proficient, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Problem-solving ability and positive attitude to resolving queries and assisting others.
- Prior experience of using Resourcelink payroll system would be an advantage but not essential.
