Job Summary
Boat Noodle Sdn Bhd is looking for a dedicated and proactive Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Executive to join our team. The OSH Executive will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the company's safety programs and ensuring compliance with local safety regulations across all branches. This role is essential in creating a safe working environment for all employees and minimizing risks to health and safety within our restaurants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safety Policy Development: Assist in creating, updating, and enforcing company safety policies, procedures, and standards across all branches.
• Risk Assessments & Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments in all locations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Health & Safety Training: Organize and conduct training sessions for staff on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with food safety standards.
• Incident Reporting & Investigation: Oversee the reporting and investigation of workplace accidents and incidents, ensuring that corrective actions are taken to prevent future occurrences.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all health and safety regulations, including those related to food safety and employee wellbeing, are adhered to in line with local regulations (e.g., OSHA, NIOSH).
• Safety Audits & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety audits, risk assessments, training, and any incidents. Prepare reports for management on safety performance and compliance.
• Emergency Procedures: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring all staff are trained in fire safety, first aid, evacuation procedures, and other critical safety protocols.
• Coordination with HR & Operations: Work closely with the HR and Operations teams to implement safety initiatives and create a safety-first culture within the company.
• Health & Safety Equipment: Ensure that safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits, PPE) is maintained, stocked, and regularly inspected at all locations.
• Employee Wellbeing: Promote general employee wellbeing by addressing health concerns in the workplace and providing recommendations for improvements to occupational health programs.
Qualifications:
• Education: A diploma or degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience in an OSH role, preferably within the food and hospitality industry. Fresh graduates with relevant certifications are also welcome to apply.
• Certification: NIOSH Safety and Health Officer (SHO) certification or similar qualifications are highly preferred.
• Skills:
-Knowledge of local safety regulations, including OSHA and NIOSH standards.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and develop safety reports.
-Strong communication and training skills to effectively educate staff on safety practices.
-Ability to manage safety-related documentation and record-keeping.
