We currently have two vacancies for a Food & Beverage Assistant. The positions are working 5 out of any 7 days per week on a permanent contract and vary in hours and contract type, so we ask that you note your preference (or state if you are happy to be considered for all) in the supporting statement on your application. The successful candidate will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer focussed environment. Previous experience of working in the Hospitality industry would be an advantage. You should be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times.

- Health and Safety awareness - we offer full training to make sure you know the risks, hazards and saftest way to work, but a basic understanding of health and safety in this role or willingness to learn is needed - getting the job done safely is key.

- Team player - you'll be working in a busy team so you should be able to work alongside others well, but also use your own initiative to work alone when required too.

- Great customer service skills - as well communication skills, you should be able to provide excellent customer service. Our tenants are our customer, so we are looking for someone who can go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service.

As a Sports Assistant you will play a vital role within our team, carrying out the day-to-day front of house operation of all Sports facilities and associated areas, so that we can provide indoor and outdoor activities and events for students, university staff, the local community and high-performance athletes.

This is a great position to learn and develop basic skills within a sporting environment where you will get to work alongside high-performance athletes, many of whom compete in the Summer and Winter Olympics.

About the role

You will need good interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team and be able to work varied hours. Your main responsibilities will consist of
* lifeguarding
* setting up indoor and outdoor activities
* setting up events
* assisting with general enquiries from customers
* responding to ad hoc requests for support

You will also be involved in patrolling facilities, security, cleanliness, health and safety and emergency procedures.
