An exciting opportunity has arisen within Clydach Ward, Morriston Hospital. We are looking for a motivated individual to undertake a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse role .
Clydach Ward, Morriston Hospital is an elective Trauma and Orthopaedic Unit with 10 beds. The nursing team on Clydach Ward place great emphasis on effective communication with all members of the Multidisciplinary team to support patients both pre-operatively and whilst in recovery. You will be able to manage your own workload of admissions and discharges, ensuring that all patients are safely prepared for surgery, transfers and discharges.
The applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills along with clinical leadership qualities. Significant experience within ward/department management is essential at a Band 5 level or above.
The individual will need to be able to work within a team setting as well as demonstrate flexible working, be enthusiastic, motivated and eager to develop further skills and knowledge.
A brand-new 10 bedded surgical ward dedicated solely to elective orthopaedic inpatient surgery is now open at Morriston Hospital, Swansea.
Our new Elective Orthopaedic Ward (EOW), will bring together all musculoskeletal surgery helping us to treat more patient’s sooner, and free up capacity for trauma and other surgery within the surrounding areas.
The Ward consists of a Ten bedded capacity specifically designed to support our patients through their journey. It will accommodate a number of specialities and a variety of complex cases, including spine, hip, knee, & shoulder surgery.
This exciting and innovative venture is a testament to how shared objectives, dedicated staff and strong teamwork directly supports excellent patient care. We are looking for motivated staff to join us in carrying these ambitions forward.
