About the Role:

Before you begin your new role with us, you will be carefully matched with your client, we will let you know all about them, and then accompany you to their home to introduce you properly. You will then enjoy regular visits for 2-4 nights a week on set days, depending on your availability. Each shift will be a ‘Waking Night’, usually starting at 10pm and finishing at 8am. This may slightly vary due to your client’s preference, but once confirmed, this will stay consistent, providing you with consistency and job stability.

During your shift, you may be required to help with the following:

Providing reassurance to your client
Providing refreshments if requested
Assisting your client to the bathroom
Helping with personal care
We do request that families provide a comfy chair or a sofa to allow you time to rest while your client is sleeping. If at any point throughout the night you have any questions or concerns, you will have full-access to a 24/7 office helpline, where a member of our on-call team can assist you.

So what do we need? In order to be successful in your application, you will require an excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping and have a strong grasp of the principles of accountancy, gained in an office workplace environment. We are currently seeking a teaching assistant to join our increasingly growing team of passionate educators in Swansea at Teaching Personnel.

Ideally you will have previous experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

The position is within a pupil referral unit (PRU) in Swansea and will be highly challenging, but will offer you great job satisfaction and sense of achievement. The position is to start in April and the school need someone on a consistent full time basis.

The school is known to appoint individuals who aren't phased by this high tariff of behavioural difficulties and have a keen interest in physical activities outside of work. This is because the school are happy for the successful candidate to take pupils outside to engage them in physical activity when pupils are struggling to engage in the work.

Particular personal or professional experience of supporting individuals with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) is highly desirable, such as an understanding of the complexities related to this. The ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of teaching and behaviour strategies relevant to this.

A Team-Teach qualification or relevant qualification (e.g. PROACT-SCIP/MAPA) are highly desirable, but not essential. Teaching Personnel also offer a range of CPD courses including Team-Teach, Introduction to Autism and Moving and Handling so don't worry!

Role: Additional Learning Needs Teaching Assistant

Pay: £83.85 a day

Location: Swansea SA1-SA5

Here at Teaching Personnel, we have an exciting opportunity arising for multiple specialist teaching assistants. Our schools need Teaching Assistants that can work with pupils with additional learning needs. If you have previously supported children with ALN within a professional environment, worked with personal care or are ready to get involved, then we would love to hear from you!

Your Role will include:
- Working with pupils that have ALN.
- Working with small groups of pupils or on a 1:1 basis
- Creating a positive and supportive learning environment for pupils
- Using a variety of engaging approaches and activities to aid the development of pupils.
- Potential to deal with personal care.
- Having the ability to build positive and respectful relationships that are on a professional level.
- Understanding a variety of different needs and differentiating activities/strategies tailoring to individual needs.

Ideal Candidates will:
- Have a valid enhanced DBS check. (We can support you in obtaining this)
- Relevent experience or have an understanding of working with autism
- Be registered with the EWC (we can support in obtaining this)
- Be enthusiastic towards working with pupils.
- Share our passion for enhancing the pupil experience in school.
