ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you a well organised numerical individual? If so come and join our small and friendly team!
The successful candidate will assist with all day-to-day aspects of the College HR & Payroll Administration. You should have relevant work experience within a HR or Payroll environment including extensive use of spreadsheets and experience of accurately inputting large volumes of data.
You must be able to work to deadlines, demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with managers and staff in this confidential work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a first point of contact for HR and Payroll enquiries and respond to or refer enquiries as appropriate, including the management of the HR Inbox.
Undertake the administration of the onboarding processes, including liaising with candidates. To also act as the first point of contact for all aspects of recruitment checks, including references, medical clearances, and DBS.
Prepare offer letters, contracts of employment, contract variation letters, and other relevant information.
Process accurate payroll changes for starters, leavers and contract changes and provide timely data to external payroll provider, working to agreed deadlines.
Undertake regular and appropriate payroll checks to ensure the pay run is processed accurately in accordance with guidelines.
Provision of advice and guidance relating to payroll matters; taking advice and guidance where appropriate from the College payroll provider.
Ensure employee records are maintained by updating staff files/Open HR with the relevant information including copies of key certificates/documents, chasing outstanding items where needed and archiving staff files in line with our data protection and retention policies.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
Qualifications and training
Minimum of Level 2 in English & Maths
CIPD qualified to at least Level 3 (Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area) or studying towards.
Skills and expertise
Experience in HR/Payroll processes and administration and maintaining office systems
The ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks
Competent ICT skills, to produce management information as requested, using relevant IT packages
Knowledge of administrative systems and effective ways of working
Excellent attention to detail

Your new role
You will be working closely with the Financial Controller and duties will include:

  • Assist with Month End Accounts preparation, to include Stock Reporting and Reconciliations, Fixed Asset Register and Depreciation, Accruals, Prepayments and journal postings
  • Ownership of Month End Accounts and Budgeting process for one division, for review by the Financial Controller
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations for all bank accounts, including multi bank, multi company and multi-currency
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • VAT knowledge, including EU and non-EU transactions, VAT Returns, Plastic Packaging Tax
  • Importing knowledge, including import paperwork, deferment account, freight invoices and landed costs
  • Customer, Supplier & Ship-through/Price Support rebate tracking and claiming
  • Compliance of waste regulations, including annual Paperpak Packaging Waste submission, Quarterly WEEE submission and Battery Producer submission
  • Weekly Cash Flow update
  • Credit Control for one smaller division
  • Fortnightly Stock Checks

What you'll need to succeed
You should be an experienced Assistant Accountant who is a motivated, self-starter who can operate with minimum supervision. You require a good working knowledge of accounting systems and Excel and the ability to use own initiative to improve processes and the confidence to suggest alternative more efficient methodsYou should be a keen learner with the ability to see the bigger picture and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills

We are a medical Same Day Emergency Centre (SDEC). We aim to see, treat and discharge patients with a variety of medical presentations the same day, in a timely manner in order to support the patient flow through acute medicine and ED. In SDEC, we are a part of the Acute Medical team.

To support the new acute floor, we are looking for caring and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our team. You will have good communication skills and a caring nature, with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. In return we can offer you a robust training programme (a 2 week academy Healthcare programme prior to starting in the department) as well as further training and education to progress your career with us.

The post holder will provide support and assist Registered Nurses delivering all aspects of health care directly to patients, within defined levels of competence and practice. This will include assisting in maintaining a suitable environment in which to deliver that care.
• Provide support to patients to maintain their hygiene needs
• Provide support to maintain their elimination needs
• Assist in the delivery of pressure area care
• Assist in the maintenance of patients nutritional and hydration needs

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 4 Finance Management Assistant within the Finance team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The post holder will join a Future Focused Finance Level 2 accredited, professional and friendly team that is committed to providing a high standard of service to support our operational colleagues.

The successful candidate will work as part of the operational finance team to deliver financial advice and support to operational service managers, budget holders and their wider teams. They will support the delivery of monthly financial reporting of management accounts, national finance returns as other ad-hoc financial reports required for operational managers to make decisions.

The successful candidate will also be involved in meeting with budget holders, managers and clinicians to help them understand their financial position and help them to forecast their spend accurately, what is driving any over/underspends and what options are available to them.

They will also work as part of the wider finance team of improvement projects, looking at continuously improving the processes within the finance department as well as delivering training to more junior members of the finance team, whilst also having the opportunity to get involved with HFMA, Future Focused Finance, One NHS Finance and the access to the training these organisation provide.
