Junior Pharmacists with On-call responsibilities

As a junior pharmacist with on-call responsibilities, you will be integral in providing a 24 hour pharmacy service across all three hospitals by partaking in service provision over extended opening hours.

You will work a variety of on-call shifts including evenings, weekends and nights where you will provide a core pharmacy service including; advising medical and nursing staff, processing urgent discharges, supplying emergency medication, releasing unlicensed medication and processing adult and paediatric parenteral nutrition.

As an on-call junior pharmacist you will follow a rotational programme gaining experience in a range of specialties across the 3 sites including:

Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Leicestershire-based secondary schools
Start Date: As soon as possible

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students across the school that have individual individuals in their academic and social development. Your role will involve providing tailored support to meet the specific needs of each student across a variety of subject areas. Students have a range of special needs with the biggest requirement being SEMH.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEN.
• Support classroom activities and help manage student behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning materials and resources.
• Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a teaching assistant is essential.
• Experience in supporting SEMH needs is essential.
• Experience providing 1:1 support is desirable.
• A passion for working with children and a commitment to inclusive education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A relevant teaching assistant or childcare qualification would be advantageous, though not essential.

Your new role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the next generation. From planning and delivering learning activities for individual pupils and groups to assessing and reporting on student progress - a HLTA provides essential classroom support. In this job, you will work closely with class teachers to support and assess pupils' learning.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this job as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you'll have a Level 4 HLTA qualification. You'll also have experience as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom setting - ideally having supported SEN pupils and a strong phonics knowledge base. Most importantly, you'll need to be energetic and dedicated to nurturing the next generation of learners.

To dispense prescriptions in accordance with professional and ethical standards laid down by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) ensuring that Departmental standards of quality, accuracy and timeliness are met. To dispense clinical trial medication and extemporaneous products in accordance with professional standards and good dispensing practices set out by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) including cytotoxic agents meeting all Health and Safety, COSHH and departmental standards. To dispense Controlled Drugs to ensure that the requirements of the Misuse of Drugs Act (1971), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards, and ensuring departmental Standard Operating Procedures are met. To document receipts of Controlled Drugs into the controlled drug register as soon after receipt as possible. To ensure that registers are kept accurate at all times, reporting any discrepancies to the Dispensary Team Leader. To ensure all drug transactions are entered accurately and timely to the pharmacy computer system so stock discrepancies are minimised. To maintain and review drug to-follows to ensure an effective system of drug supply, through effective communication with relevant pharmacy and ward staff.

To work as part of the Pharmacy Team in providing an efficient, effective, and safe pharmaceutical service to patients and customers at ward level, managing ward and patient drug stocks ensuring adequate stock is available on the designated ward by topping up stock, processing extra requests and maintaining stock levels and to dispense (within the main and satellite pharmacies) prescriptions. In addition to ward activity you will contribute to the main dispensary service, dispensing medicines for In patients and discharge including cytotoxic medicines and controlled drugs all in an accurate and timely manner. To co-ordinate and process all stock requests for designated ward areas to ensure stock levels are maintained and excess stock is kept to a minimum. To identify and pursue personal training needs with the object of improving personal development and performance, and to collaborate in the training of other pharmacy staff as appropriate.
