About the role

Reporting to the Regional Credit Manager, this intern will be part of a larger team within the Asia Pacific Finance department, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimise company financial risk and assist in enforcing existing policies and procedures. This 6-month full-time internship commences December 2024/January 2025.

What you will be doing

Ensure monthly Credit Management Reporting is submitted to Regional Management/HQ on timely basis
Assist the Regional Credit Management team to request and pursue payment on delinquent/Close monitoring accounts via communication with account holder
Review and update account status according to established guidelines
Maintains log of payment promises and pertinent account details; schedules follow-up communication with account holder
Responsible for handling the collection activity for delinquent accounts and enforcing collection policies & procedures
Follow up with internal customers & external customers to ensure overdue amounts are paid promptly
Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to non-payment of invoices
Prepare and send monthly statements of account & reminder letter to customers/internal customers
Report and alert any exceptional and problematic customers and apply appropriate actions to minimize bad debt
Liaise closely with Internal External customers, proactively build and foster strong relationships
Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate

At least a diploma or above (finance/accounting/business studies preferred)
Knowledge in accounting would be advantageous
Strong skills in excel / BI tools (e.g. Tableau)
Self-Motivated, analytical mindset
A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Independent and fast learner with minimum supervision
Meticulous, organized, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Possess good attitude and willingness to learn
